Catherine felt a gentle warmth bloom in her heart. He really did care about her.
She suddenly remembered something, slipped off his lap, and dug through her purse before pulling out a card. She handed it to him with a small smile. “This is the wedding gift money my dad returned to me. There’s a hundred million on it. I want you to have it.”
Lawrence looked surprised for a second. He reached out, wrapped his hand around hers, and softly pushed the card back. “I don’t need the money. You should keep it.”
“Use it to buy your parents a bigger house. I just want them to have a better life,” Catherine said, her voice warm. Her eyes shone with determination. “Besides, we’ll have even more money soon. My dad gave me the twenty percent stake in the company that belonged to my mom. The yearly dividends alone are a lot.”
Lawrence’s breath caught in his throat. Was Catherine really willing to give everything to his family? If she ever met someone with bad intentions, she’d be the one getting hurt.
Thank goodness she met him instead.
“My mom loves the old house. She grew up in that neighborhood, and she doesn’t like the tall buildings in the new part of town. So keep the money for now.” Lawrence pulled her into his arms again. “But I know what you mean, and I appreciate it for my parents.”
Catherine blinked, understanding what he meant. Living in the old part of town had its own kind of charm, and maybe that’s exactly what older folks liked.
“All right. If we ever want to buy a house, we can do it anytime,” she said, feeling relieved.
Then another idea popped into her head. She wrapped her arms around his neck, looking him in the eyes. “You can take your time at my dad’s company. When the moment’s right, I’ll transfer my shares to you. That way, you’ll become a shareholder and the Vice President at The Blair Group. After that, no one will ever look down on you.”
Lawrence lowered his head, looking at his wife nestled in his arms. Her eyes were so clear, so bright, overflowing with trust and the urge to support him.
Later, when Catherine thought back to this moment, she’d realize what a huge win this was for her.
One day, she’d be the lady of Nexus Dynamics.
“Okay, yours is mine too,” she repeated, grinning.
Lawrence hugged her close, pride shining in his eyes. “My wife is amazing.”
“My husband is too.” Catherine pressed a kiss to his cheek.

I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
Didn’t Alice bring food? She left it. I would definitely have it tested....
