“We’re just waiting for Catherine to win this Resonance AI case.”
Lawrence glanced through the glass window at the girl lounging on the sofa, flipping through a photo album. His eyes softened. “There’s no rush. Don’t push her.”
“Got it,” Nicol replied before ending the call.
Lawrence put away his phone and walked into the living room, settling down beside Catherine. She was completely absorbed in the thick album, her fingers tracing old photos.
“Was I cute when I was a kid?” he asked, leaning closer with a teasing smile.
Catherine turned to a couple of photos of him as a toddler, wearing split pants and bawling his eyes out. She burst out laughing. “You were adorable.”
Lawrence shook his head, grinning. “Pretty sure that was after I fell down. My mom loved to document stuff like that.”
Catherine giggled, lowering her voice. “Did you really not notice what you were wearing?”
Lawrence looked a little embarrassed, his deep eyes glinting with mischief. “And what exactly are you thinking about right now?”
Catherine’s cheeks flushed pink. She quickly looked away. “I’m not thinking anything, thank you very much.”
But inside, she was secretly pleased. He’s mine anyway. What’s the harm in looking?
Later that afternoon, after finishing her bird’s nest soup, Catherine left with Lawrence and headed back to his villa.
They took a nap together. When Catherine woke up, Lawrence suddenly said, “Catherine, I have to go on a business trip Monday. I’ll be away for about three days.”
“Where are you going?”
She gave him a sympathetic look. No wonder his dad wanted him to stay in the military. For an ordinary family, it really was a steady path.
Lawrence’s dad must have been disappointed when he left, but Lawrence was talented. He’d shine in any industry.
That night, Catherine was suffering through her period. She curled up tiredly in Lawrence’s arms, his tall frame making her feel extra small and protected. Lawrence’s big hand rested gently over her pajama top, warming her cold stomach and easing her cramps. Every so often, he bent down and pressed soft kisses into her hair.
The next day, Sunday, Catherine slept in. She went to Adelina’s for lunch, then in the afternoon, Lawrence drove her to the apartment Nexus Dynamics had assigned her. The building was right on campus, usually reserved for senior executives. Catherine found herself standing in a gorgeous, three-thousand-square-foot penthouse.
She pushed open the door, her eyes wide in disbelief. Was this really her new place?
Catherine turned to Lawrence. “Are you sure there isn’t some mistake?”
Lawrence laughed, looking at her fondly. “No mistake. This place is yours. Get comfortable.”

I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
Didn’t Alice bring food? She left it. I would definitely have it tested....
