She started the car again and pulled out onto the road, heading straight for The James Group. Right now, nothing mattered more than winning Amy over, finally cracking the Resonance AI issue, and locking down her spot as Waldo’s wife.
Catherine had married Lawrence and basically hit the jackpot. Shirley refused to let herself lose like that.

Inside the general manager’s office at The James Group, Waldo sat at his desk, staring at Lawrence’s file. He’d dug as deep as he could, but all he found was information about Lawrence’s mother’s family. Everything about his father was a total blank.
It felt like someone had wiped every trace of Lawrence’s dad from existence, or maybe the information was being guarded at a level normal people could never reach.
Waldo had already called in every favor he could. Still, nothing.
“Waldo, I think we’re getting too close to something dangerous,” his assistant said quietly. “If we keep this up, it might come back to bite us.”
Waldo yanked his tie loose, feeling stifled. Shirley had told him Lawrence’s father worked as a security guard at the Science Academy. But now that Lawrence’s real identity was out in the open, there was no way his father was just a guard.
Why couldn’t he find a single clue about the man? Even the Science Academy had nothing.
What really shocked him was what he’d learned about Lawrence’s grandfather on his mother’s side. The old man had been one of the very first fellows at the Science Academy. With that kind of background, Lawrence’s success in tech suddenly made a lot more sense.
And the house Lawrence lived in, that stylish place in the old part of town, turned out to be part of his grandfather’s inheritance. Not some rental, like people assumed.
Waldo slammed the folder onto his desk, frustration bubbling up inside him. The mystery around Lawrence’s father was driving him crazy. He had always thought Lawrence was just a self-made guy, maybe a business genius with a little luck. But now, everything looked a lot more complicated.
What did it mean when someone’s information was locked away at the highest security level?
He needed to marry Shirley as soon as possible, and she had to push Resonance AI to a real breakthrough.
As for Catherine...
Waldo’s hurt turned into resentment. Lawrence’s true background made everything clear. Catherine had married Lawrence so quickly because she’d found out who he really was. She’d betrayed Waldo, plain and simple.
She’d seen a better option and tossed him aside.
Of course.
Catherine was just another ordinary woman, greedy for status and money. He’d thought too highly of her. Honestly, compared to Shirley and her grip on Resonance AI, Catherine didn’t even come close.

I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
Didn’t Alice bring food? She left it. I would definitely have it tested....
