Waldo stared at the plaintiff’s name, stunned, shaken, and honestly, a little scared.
This had to be some kind of mistake. How could it be her?
How could Catherine possibly be behind Resonance AI?
No way. Sure, Catherine was a tech genius, but there was just no way she was involved with Resonance AI.
So what was Nexus Dynamics up to now? Were they worried about the Resonance AI he had in his hands? Were they trying to stir up trouble on purpose?
Waldo slammed the file onto his desk and let out a bitter laugh. “So ruining my wife’s reputation wasn’t enough for them? Now they want to drag the whole James Group into this mess?”
He didn’t believe for a second that Catherine could be the creator behind Shirley’s Resonance AI. Catherine had been by his side for five years. He knew exactly what she worked on and what she didn’t. Even with her smarts, something like this was out of her reach.
It had to be another one of Nexus Dynamics’ schemes, all because they were jealous and afraid that Resonance AI was about to take off.
If a patent lawsuit tied up Resonance AI, it couldn’t be sold. This was just Lawrence trying to keep him boxed in, plain and simple.
“Go. Call in the legal team right now. And bring my wife here,” Waldo told his assistant, his voice low and cold. “I want to see what kind of proof Nexus Dynamics thinks they actually have.”
The assistant hurried out, first calling the legal department, then heading straight to Shirley’s private office.
He knocked before stepping inside. “Shirley, Waldo wants to see you,” he said, his tone urgent.
Shirley’s heart skipped. Did Waldo know about the trouble with Resonance AI?
She’d been searching everywhere for Amy, but it was like she’d disappeared into thin air.
Impossible.
The lawsuit was even more absurd, accusing her of stealing and misusing Catherine’s intellectual property.
“Catherine? Seriously?” Shirley let out a cold laugh and handed the document to the legal director. “You and your team need to get in touch with Nexus Dynamics. Find out what they’re really after.”
Ted, the legal director, took the complaint and read through it quickly. His expression grew serious. As a legal expert, he could tell right away that this wasn’t some half-baked stunt. The complaint was solid and the evidence well-organized.
And Nexus Dynamics was no joke. If they’d gathered evidence, it was probably enough to make things difficult.
This was not going to be easy.
“Waldo, Shirley,” Ted said, choosing his words carefully. “Legally, they’ve already filed suit and provided a preliminary list of evidence. The court accepted the case and issued a summons, so they’re clearly prepared. We need to pull a team together right away, go over every detail in this complaint, and start building our own evidence as soon as possible.”

I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
Didn’t Alice bring food? She left it. I would definitely have it tested....
