Lawrence didn’t answer her. He walked straight to her desk, his voice low as he said, “Enough work for today. Come eat with me.”
Catherine glanced at the clock. It was already six thirty. She shrugged, “I forgot. Honestly, I’m not that hungry.”
But just thinking about taking Shirley and Waldo to court gave her a surge of energy.
Lawrence’s eyes softened with concern. He knew she’d been holding this all in for way too long, but he wished she’d take better care of herself.
“I booked a table at a nice restaurant. Let’s grab a bite,” he coaxed.
Catherine closed her laptop and got up without protest. As they walked out together, Lawrence held out his hand. She slipped hers into his right away.
At the restaurant, Catherine chatted excitedly, telling him all about the evidence she’d gathered. There was so much confidence in her eyes that Lawrence had no doubt she’d win this fight.
Resonance AI was her pride and joy. There was no way he’d let anyone take that from her.
“Shirley doesn’t even realize Resonance AI is mine,” Catherine said, a small, smug smile on her lips. “I love how clueless she is.”
Lawrence looked at her, a gentle pride in his eyes. “She’s about to find out how amazing you are.”
Shirley’s arrogance wouldn’t last much longer. The moment she stepped into that courtroom, she’d be left scrambling.
Just then, Lawrence’s phone buzzed with a message. It was a video. He watched it, then handed the phone to Catherine. “We’ve got proof of Alice’s affair.”
Catherine took the phone and watched the whole video in silence. The footage showed Alice and Garnett wrapped up in each other out in public. Catherine’s face stayed blank.
“My dad just left, and she couldn’t wait any longer.” Her voice dripped with disgust. “When he’s back, he’ll handle her.”
Catherine smiled and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, like it was the most natural thing in the world. “Honey, I’m scared. Will you sleep with me tonight?”
She buried her face in his chest, her cheeks warm, feeling the way his muscles tensed.
She didn’t have to say anything else. The invitation was clear.
Lawrence swallowed hard, his breath coming faster. But remembering her health, he kept himself in check. “Don’t worry. I’ll stay with you.”
Catherine snuggled into his arms and looked up at him, her eyes soft and full of anticipation. “Last time didn’t count. Tonight, I want us to really be together.”
Her words hit him deep, sending a rush of heat through his whole body. Holding Catherine close, knowing she wanted him, it was all he could think about.

I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
Didn’t Alice bring food? She left it. I would definitely have it tested....
