"I created Resonance AI on my own. You just need to focus on preparing the defense and countersuit materials based on that. I'll handle the rest and clear things up myself when the time comes."
Ted nodded, looking a bit uneasy. "Alright, I get what you're saying. It's just... Resonance AI is everything to The James Group right now. If we lose this case, the company will take a huge hit. That's not something you or I can afford. We wouldn't be able to deal with the fallout."
For a moment, Shirley forgot to breathe. Was it really that serious?
But then she remembered Amy was on her side. With Amy backing her up, how could she possibly lose? Catherine had suddenly started claiming that Resonance AI was hers, yet before this, there wasn't the slightest hint or leak. How was Shirley supposed to believe Catherine could actually win this case?
Ted spoke up again. "I've heard some things. I'm not sure if it's true, but I doubt it's just gossip."
"What did you hear?"
"Word is, Nexus Dynamics is planning something big. Their next move might be to buy out a major tech company. I really hope it's not The James Group," Ted said, his tone heavy.
Shirley looked at him like he was joking. Nexus Dynamics buying out The James Group? Did Lawrence really think he could pull that off?
"Don't waste time worrying about rumors like that. Just focus on the case. Losing isn't an option," Shirley said, then stood up and walked out.
As soon as she left, one of Ted's team members leaned in, looking worried. "Ted, isn't this lawsuit kind of ridiculous? Shirley hasn't given us any real evidence, and we're supposed to go up against Nexus Dynamics?"
Ted pushed up his glasses and met his gaze. "Just do your best."
No one said anything more. They gathered their files and left the room. Ted, who'd been through more than a few storms, couldn't help but sigh inside. The look in Shirley's eyes and the uncertainty in her voice... it felt like he'd seen a glimpse of the real situation.
This lawsuit wasn't going to be as easy or straightforward as everyone seemed to think.
"Amy and her assistant just checked out of the resort. They're in the city now, staying at a hotel near the courthouse."
Shirley finally let herself breathe. Amy had picked that hotel on purpose. That was her signal.
She was going to testify.
If not, she wouldn't have booked a place so close to the courthouse.
"Amy's definitely going to help me," Shirley whispered to herself.
She had to believe it. Without Amy, winning this case wasn't a sure thing at all.

I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
Didn’t Alice bring food? She left it. I would definitely have it tested....
