Lawrence arched an eyebrow and leaned closer. "I'm only interested in making you fall for me."
Catherine's cheeks flushed with heat. She gave him a playful side-eye, then turned to look out the window, a sweet rush filling her chest.
After they left the hospital, Lawrence's voice softened with sincerity. "I'll be with you all day today."
Catherine felt warmth bloom in her heart. "I'd like that."
The tech summit was being held at a high-tech convention center downtown. It was the event of the year, drawing not just the country’s top tech leaders but also big names from all over the world.
By the time Catherine and Lawrence arrived, the place was already packed. Reporters were everywhere, their cameras snapping away, while crowds of tech fans waited impatiently behind the yellow barriers, hoping for a glimpse of someone famous.
Lawrence pulled the car into the VIP entrance and parked.
Inside, Magee, the vice president of Nexus Dynamics, was in the middle of shaking hands with a foreign client. The moment he spotted Lawrence and Catherine, he excused himself and hurried over. "Lawrence, Catherine, you made it."
"Hi, Magee," Catherine replied with a smile. She glanced around, curiosity getting the better of her. "Magee, isn’t the president of Nexus Dynamics coming today?"
Catherine was sure that for an event this major, the mysterious boss of Nexus Dynamics would finally show up.
Magee's gaze flickered toward Lawrence for a split second, then he cleared his throat. "I'm representing Nexus Dynamics today. The president... had something urgent come up."
Catherine nodded and let it go. She figured she’d meet the elusive CEO sooner or later.
Magee led the Nexus Dynamics team into the main hall. Their entrance turned heads, their presence impossible to ignore.
Just then, the James Group delegation entered from another door. Led by Waldo and Shirley, they ran straight into Magee’s group.
A few of the James Group execs snickered behind him. With Resonance AI in their corner, they were confident about overtaking Nexus Dynamics soon.
Shirley hid a smirk behind her hand, her eyes full of scorn as she looked Catherine up and down.
Magee’s face darkened. "Waldo, this isn’t the time or the place for that kind of talk. Have some respect."
Waldo just grinned, shrugging it off. "Come on, Magee, I’m just asking. No harm meant."
Magee decided to ignore him and started to lead his team away, but Waldo suddenly grabbed Lawrence’s arm, leaning in close so no one else could hear. "A guy living off a woman... you really think you belong here?"
He kept his voice low, making sure only Lawrence and Catherine caught it. Catherine’s face went pale with anger. She stepped forward and knocked Waldo’s hand away from Lawrence. "Waldo, watch yourself."

I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
Didn’t Alice bring food? She left it. I would definitely have it tested....
