“I’m scared for Aeliana,” Danielle hisses.

“Hmm?”

“You just planned your future right here, didn’t you?” She asks, her smile knowing. “A dozen kids, some extra.” “No,” I shrug. Kids would be nice but I’m focused on my mate right now. “I’m just admiring my wife.”

“You’re always eye fucking her, the house staff is starting to gossip.”

I raise an eyebrow, “Is it really gossip if it’s true?”

“I’m going to grab a bite,” she sighs. “Keep eating glances of Aeliana.” She teases.

I should get another drink, but I’m ambushed by someone else, Damien. He basically mea jumps on me, his entire body weight resting on my shoulder. “Damien.” I groan in annoyance.

“Alpha bro, nice event.” He says, patting my shoulder. “Very innovative, one can tell this was all A, and none of it you.”

“I still don’t see why you were invited, you wouldn’t adopt, you practically have a litter.” I snarl.

He reaches into his pocket, producing a paper. “I brought donations.” He declares, straightening it out.

“You?” I stare, unable to believe my eyes. He is indeed holding a cheque but it can’t be from him. “Did mom slide you a cheque?”

“Nope, all mine.” He grins smugly. “Rivers is making bank lately so I can afford this. I’m thinking of another brunch, Noah suggested it, but what would I call it?”

“Rivers is a brand name, isn’t it?”

“Yes,” he nods. “But I can’t have two Rivers?”

I can’t help but sigh, Damien isn’t the brightest crayon in the box. “How many hotels do I own?” “Sixty-two.” He quickly answers, wrong but he’s not far off, and the number isn’t exactly relevant. I have a bit over seventy that I’m the sole owner of, and while most have different names, I have twenty-three named The Lotus, after Aeliana. I open a new branch every year during the week of her birthday to account for her age. I nod, “What are twenty-three of them named?”

“The Lotus…” he trails off, eyes widening as he realises it. “Oh!”

“Yeah.” I pat his shoulder, walking past him but he jogs in front of me.
