In response, she frowns. “I thought you responded to violence after using it on Alex.”

“He was not listening,” she grits through her teeth, staring at him like she’s about to exact revenge for the slaps he helped her get.

“Neither were you but Alex is a child,” Luna Aeliana tells her. “He will learn to listen, but you? I don’t know if there’s hope for you.”

“Mommy,” Alex calls. “Can I please have a snack?”

“Yeah,” I nod. “Go to the kitchen and ask for one.”

He shakes his head, “I want the one you make. You make me nice oats.”

I sigh, making my way to the kitchen. He stays back with Vittoria and Luna Aeliana, and by the time I’m done with his oats, I find him sound asleep on the sofa, and I have to eat the oats myself. I can’t stomach them, so I let Vittoria have them. She seems to have gone mute from the time I returned, all she says is thank you when Luna Aeliana glares at her after I give her the bowl.

“Are you okay, River?” Luna Aeliana asks, instantly coming to my aid.

“Yeah,” I smile, realising I must have made a face when the baby started kicking. “The baby is kicking,” I tell her, but my words seem to do nothing to ease the concern I caused. “Do you want to feel? He’s very active.”

Her eyes light up as she crouches down beside me, “Can I?” She asks, still hesitant. I nod for her to go on, but she hovers, not knowing where to touch. I place her hand right above the baby’s foot.

“Did you feel it?”

“Yeah,” she nods. “Is that not uncomfortable? I mean…”

“I know what you mean, and it isn’t,” I smile. I am a bit older than her and Damien, but there’s nothing I felt I could teach her, or offer her that she didn’t already know as Luna but it seems like I do now. She appears so confused right now, her fingers lightly brushing over my belly. “It’s quite nice actually, but sometimes it hurts a little.”

“Wow, that’s amazing River, you are creating life,” she smiles. “Does it not weird you out sometimes?”

I shrug, I was a curious and scared cat during my first pregnancy, but this one? I’m easily a pro. “You get used to it.”

“I bet.” She twitches, “Does it do this all day?”

I’m about to explain to her when Vittoria jumps out of her seat, “Oh good, you can’t threaten me anymore.” She says, rushing over to greet Alpha Dante who just walked in with his wife. “Daddy!”

“Hello princess,” he smiles. “How was your day?”

The brat wastes no time snitching, “Kingston’s wife slapped me,”

“What did you do?” Alpha asks, his tone exhausted. I’d be exhausted too if my teen was fucking boys under my roof while I’m gone.

“Apologise,” Luna Estelle barks.

Luna Aeliana curses, so low only I hear it. “I’m-”

“What do you think you’re doing?” She asks, staring at her.

Luna Aeliana turns to me and I shake my head, even I knew those words weren’t for her, but she panicked. “You said to…”

“Not you,” Luna Estelle gasps. “Why would you think I was talking to? And why would you let me talk to you that way?”

“I just-”

“Apologise to your sister-in-law, Vittoria.” Alpha Dante tells her. “Hurry on.”

“But she slapped me, daddy.”

“She pushed Alex,” I counter. “And-” Luna Aeliana grabs my arm and shakes her head. Are we supposed to not warn them that she was having sex with Rune?

Luna Estelle glares at Vittoria. “I’m glad she slapped you.”

“Daddy?” Vittoria pouts, turning to the one parent who appears to spoil her most.

“I still don’t hear an apology.” That’s all he says.

She huffs, her hands balled into fists. “I’m sorry.”

“Proper,” her mother adds.

“Fine,” she snaps, getting down on her knees. “I’m fucking sorry.”

Luna Aeliana frowns, “Don’t cuss at me, Vittoria.”

“I’m sorry, sister-in-law,” she swallows. “My behaviour was rude, inappropriate, disrespectful and I will work

on it.”

“Stay there,” Luna Estelle orders, “You ought to have gotten more than a slap.”

“Three,” Luna Aeliana smiles. “And I grounded her, she doesn’t get to have a phone until she acts right again, and she can’t have anyone over, especially not boys.”

“I told her she can’t do that,” Vittoria says.

“She can,” Luna Estelle laughs. “She’s your brother’s wife, which makes her your sister and above all your Luna. You listen to her, if she says roll over I expect you to shift young lady.”

“Daddy?”

“Thank you for trying, Aeliana.”

“Pleasure,” she smiles, “If she doesn’t listen anymore, feel free to send her over to my house. I’d love to practice my big sister role.”

“Ew. No.” Vittoria groans, still on her knees. “Please Dad, Mom?”

“Let’s see if Kingston agrees,” Luna Estelle teases, “You can take her then.”

“Please don’t do that to me, I can’t, brother Kingston is so strict with me,” she whines. “I’ll be…he’ll send me to school with security.”

“Then get your act together,” I sigh. “You’re stressing us to the grave.’

“You should be resting.” She scolds.

“I am, but Alex loves sending me on adventures.”

“Isn’t that son of mine helping?”

“Probably not, he’s just a kid himself.” Vittoria snickers, “Damien is probably partying.”
