The mention of her makes me twitch, “Thats not necessary.”

“It very much is,” he says. “She needs to learn the order of hierarchy, and consideration. She can have guests over, but inviting your family without consulting you is off limits, more so because she did it knowing how tense things always are between you.”

“I don’t want to see her face right now, I’ll tackle her and punch her in the face a few times.”

His lips twitch with a small smile, “I’ll hold her down so you can.”

I pause, taken aback by the instant offer to help me beat her up. “Are you serious?”

“Why not?” He frowns.

Maddox scoffs. “You two are a sick pair of Romeo and Juliet.”

I turn, both of us now facing him. “You insult us by lowering us to their level,” Kingston says with an eyeroll, pulling me against his chest, his arms wrapped around me like a straitjacket.
