Chapter 267
AELIANA
Three days.
That’s how long I’ve been hosting two uninvited and unwanted guests and they’ve been irritating. I’ve made it my mission to never cross paths with either one of the three demons living under this roof now, and it’s going great.
The day they moved in, Seraphine made a highly miscalculated attack on Noah’s wardrobe and was punched in the face. Not only has she easily learned to watch her mouth, but she will also be minding her business around her.
I’m loitering in the music room and I remember a moment too late that I have something hidden in the fridge that I need before I leave. Kingston told me he was taking me on a trip today, just us two, to take my mind off waiting on VU to respond, comforting Danielle, and tolerating Seraphine’s visit. Which I’m barely succeeding at.
The one thing that has irritated me the most about Seraphine moving in is the laughter. Audrey and Sera are like two kids, they’re everywhere, laughing and dancing… Yes, they’ve taken to making dancing videos and doing live chats? It’s crazy. What’s even crazier is that they have a few danderheads who convince them that they matter more than they do.
Speaking of the two, I regret not having sent Lexie to the kitchen the moment I enter. I move quietly, hoping the two idiots sipping bottled spring water by the counter see me, but they do. “Oh, look who it is,” Audrey cheerfully says. Of course, they see me, evil has more eyes than the average person “Hi, Luna Aeliana.” She grins, the way in which she addresses me is pretty unsettling. It does sound respectful, but there are undertones of vile that I can’t put a name to yet.
“Hello,” I roll my eyes, grabbing the bottled cocktail that I had Lexie hide in the fridge for me. “If it isn’t dumb, and even dumber.”
“That’s not necessary,” Seraphine frowns. “Why are you so hostile, Squeak?”
I shrug, the sting I used to feel when I heard Squeak is no longer effective. “I don’t think I am, but if you seem to think so? Then feel free to leave my house.” I say, eyes shifting towards Audrey so she knows I mean her too.” Both of you,”
She pouts, “But I like it here.”
“Good, because you’ll die alone,” I sweetly smile. “In this house, watching me live the life that you wanted from the sidelines.”
Her smile falls, arms crossed over her chest as she stalks me. “You think you’re going to get your happy ending?” She growls, the fake pleasantries gone from her tone and body language.
I shrug, “Already have.”
“Thats cute,” she laughs. “But I promised you something Aeliana, and I always make good on my promises to you. Or did you forget?”
“I unfortunately listen to little or nothing that you say.”
“Let me remind you,” she quietly says. “You can have Alpha Kingston, but I promised that you’d never be happy with him. I will not rest until you and he are over.”
“Can’t you take a hint? The man doesn’t love you, Audrey. He loves me, Kingston is my mate, get that through your thick skull or get help.”

She smiles, shaking her head. “No, you can’t still think this is about him? It’s bigger than that.”
I sigh, taking her in. There’s something about the way she looks at me, like my entire existence bothers her, like if the world ceased to exist and only I could bring it back. She would rather it be gone than make peace with me. The feeling is slightly mutual, but I don’t hate her as she hates me, not nearly enough. “What the hell have I ever done to you?” I ask, half hoping she can tell me once and for all so I can understand her psychotic behaviour towards my existence, but she doesn’t tell me.
All she does is roll her eyes, “Like you don’t know.”
“I don’t,” I scoff. “But I also don’t care because you and your evil will never succeed. There is no scheme you can conjure up that will separate me from my mate.”
She turns towards Sera, both of them sharing the same wicked smile. “I don’t have to.”
