He doesn’t respond.

He spins me again, this time my cheek presses against the wallpaper and he steps between my legs, caging me. I suck in a breath, immediately overwhelmed by the citrus. “Okay, you need to ditch the citrus.” I groan. Every breath I take feels like I’m drowning in citrus, and Kingston keeps making me breathe him in. He feels shorter, which makes me realise how high my heels are, and why my feet hurt so much after class.

Kingston slides his hand under my flared dress, barely touching me before he roughly yanks my panties down, the force snapping the little chain holding them together. “You’ll have to talk eventually,” I muse, the whole silent thing isn’t doing it for me. I love his voice, I love when he talks to me, and right about now, he would be talking dirty to me, telling me how bad he wants me, but instead, he thrusts two fingers inside me, holding me to the wall with a hand against my cheek.

“Kingston,” I gasp. The leather around his fingers feels too dry to be inside me. He doesn’t try to prep me like he always does, doesn’t kiss my cheek, or work his thumb over my clit, he just thrusts, his fingers rough and just

wrong…

A familiar discomfort builds in my stomach, “Kingston,” I whimper, the thrust of his fingers too hard and rough to spark any pleasure. Whatever this new thing he’s trying isn’t working. “That’s too rough, honey..slow down.” I hiss.

He doesn’t, his hand on my head pushes harder, his fingers working faster as if it’ll help, but it doesn’t, it just hurts now. “Kingston, stop,” I scold. “Stop,” I repeat, the softness gone from my voice now. Perhaps he can’t hear me because the music is too loud.

He growls in response, the sound setting alarms off. I know the pitch and rumble of every sound that my mate makes, and the one I just heard seconds ago is not one of them. The realisation hits me slowly, it’s not him, Kingston would have stopped the moment I asked him to, he would have immediately turned his phone light on, worried I was scared of the dark, but he did none of it.

I push off the wall, but I’m slammed against it again, the impact stealing the breath from my lungs. His hand disappears from between my legs. The shock of what just happened fades fast, my survival instincts kick in and I begin to fight, wiggling and kicking until I’m free, but that only lasts a second. I’m yanked back and slammed against the wall again. It hurts, my head aches with a dull thud, but I ignore it, aimlessly kicking at the man who just pretended to be my husband.

The lights flicker back on and we both freeze. The man in front of me is dressed in all black, every inch of his body is covered except for his eyes. I know those eyes.

It’s him.

That demon. “You!” I scream. I told myself I would kill this thing the next time I saw him, and I’m holding myself to it. “You-you touched me,” I gasp, a little in disbelief at how bold he is. It’s seven if not eight, the packhouse is still filled with people, so how he managed to get in here baffles me.

“Hello, little tease.” He says, and I can feel him smirking until that ski mask,

I slap him with my free hand, and he twists the one in his grip, but I don’t stop, I claw at his mask, kicking him as best I can with my heels. When he successfully restrains me, I slam my elbow into his ribs, making his grip loosen enough for me to act. “You bitch,” he spits, dropping me to the floor headfirst.

My vision blurs for a second, a second long enough for him to be over me again, hand around my throat, squeezing tightly. “King!” I scream, “Help!” I scream, my voice strangled. The music is too loud, no one outside

can hear me. It’s just me here, just me, and I feel like I’m losing. I can’t lose.
