She never knew before.
Three months could feel this agonizingly long.
Now, why not end this farce early?
Sebastian's gaze was completely devoid of warmth. He casually lowered his eyes to glance at the file folder, then looked back at Raelynn. "Just because of what happened with Chloe?"
Raelynn wanted to laugh.
Just?
She had been stabbed over and over until she was emotionally mutilated.
Yet to him, it was merely a "just."
It seemed he was well aware that he was indulging Seraphina's reckless behavior to hurt others.
But he didn't think it mattered.
After all, anyone's life or death couldn't compare to Seraphina's happiness.
She desperately wanted to say it wasn't just that.
The fracture of their marriage was an accumulation of countless minor incidents. What started as tolerable little thorns had gradually morphed into a suffocating wave of despair.
More importantly, his blind favoritism had nearly cost Lily her life.
But did the reasons even matter anymore?
Their divorce was an inevitable dead end.
"You can think whatever you want," she said, tilting her head up with a bright yet hollow smile. "Sebastian, I wish you the best."
She wished him a bright dawn in his new relationship.
She didn't say another word.
She brushed past him and entered the hospital room.
To prevent him from following her.
She swiftly locked the door.
Sebastian turned around.
His narrowed, somber gaze lingered on that door.
This was the first time Raelynn had spoken to him so seriously about... divorce?
She wasn't hysterical, nor was she breaking down in reluctance.
He raised his hand and glanced at the file folder again, feeling no rush to open it.
He took long strides toward the nurses' station.
The duty nurse's eyes lit up the moment she saw Sebastian. She immediately stood up. "Is there anything I can help you with?"
Sebastian asked thoughtfully, "The little girl in Room 2013, what's her name?"
Chloe was currently dealing with the police station regarding the child she brought in.
He pulled out a section of the documents.
The bold words "Divorce Agreement" immediately caught their eyes.
Leo raised an eyebrow, suddenly amused. "Seb, are you finally divorcing Raelynn?"
Sebastian replied flatly, "No."
"Huh?"
Sebastian pulled out the two copies of the agreement. "Raelynn dropped these off."
Leo's expression shifted, his brows furrowing. "Her? What right does she have to demand a divorce?"
Was Raelynn losing her mind again?
Sebastian didn't answer.
He took out the two agreements, his eyes scanning the dense clauses.
Gradually.
His gaze grew heavier, and a faint, mocking scoff played on his lips.
He flipped to the signature line on the last page.
Blank.
Raelynn hadn't signed it.
