The strange part was, I wasn’t just shocked.

Understood.

The call ended

Nira’s POV:

The moment I stepped out of Howard Academy, my phone buzzed again.

Another unknown number.

Miss Soren, meeting location changed. Head to the old warehouse on the east side?

I frowned slightly, but still told the driver to turn around.

When I got there, the place was empty.

Then another message came through.

Location changed again. Go to the abandoned factory in the north district. Now.”

I let out a quiet laugh under my breath.

They were circling, switching locations over and over, trying to make sure no one could track me, trying to shake off anyone who might be watching.

It was obvious.

But something else had already caught my attention.

The moment I got into the car earlier, I knew something was off.

The driver was fully covered, mask, cap, nothing visible, and the scent coming off him wasn’t civilian.

Gamma wolf.

The kind trained for combat.

Lyra had already gone on alert inside me.

We approached an intersection where the car should have slowed down.

It didn’t.

Instead, the driver slammed the gas, yanked the wheel, and ran straight through the red light, cutting into a narrow side road.

My body lurched with the sudden movement, but I stabilized instantly, adjusting without taking any real impact.
