Chapter 56 A Silent Warning
Nira’s POV:
That was enough. For a brief moment, the urge surged up, sharp and instinctive.
Let Lyra take over. End it in one move.
But I forced it down just as quickly. I couldn’t expose myself here.

Instead, I slipped my hand into my pocket and pulled out the snake, Ivory. I lowered my hand, and the moment Ivory touched the ground, it moved, fast.
It slid up along her leg in one smooth motion, coiling higher and tighter until it wrapped firmly around her neck.
At first, she barely reacted. She glanced at it with clear disdain before lifting her gaze back to me, a mocking smile forming.
“A snake? That’s your move?” Her voice was full of contempt. “Do you really think something like this can go up against me? I’m a high–tier pureblood. You’re not even in the same league.”
She tilted her head slightly, her tone turning more provocative. “Believe it or not, I could tear it apart with my bare hands.”
As she spoke, she reached up, clearly intending to grab Ivory.
Ivory didn’t give her the chance.
In an instant, it tightened. Her body froze.
The claws she had raised faltered, then dropped weakly to her sides as the pressure around her throat increased.
From behind her, panic finally broke through.
“Something’s wrong. That’s not a normal snake!”
The girls who had been crowding around moments ago immediately started backing away.
The leader’s face drained of color at a visible rate, her lips turning dark as her breathing was cut off. Her body trembled uncontrollably, and the arrogance from earlier was gone completely.

She looked at me, desperation replacing everything else.

I met her gaze, my voice calm and cold. “You might want to stop struggling. It was raised on wolfsbane. If it bites you, there’s a good chance you won’t survive.
Tears welled up instantly in her eyes. When she spoke again, her voice shook badly. “I… I’m sorry. I was wrong. Please… make it stop…”
I watched her for a brief moment longer before speaking, “Ivory, come back.”
Ivory loosened its coils slowly, almost reluctantly, then slid down from her neck and made its way back up along my arm, disappearing neatly into my sleeve.
The girl collapsed to the ground the moment she was free, gasping for air, her body still shaking as she stared at me in stunned silence.
“Nira!”
Tessa’s voice rang out as she ran over, clearly having seen everything.
I gave a small nod and reached for her wrist. “Let’s go.
As we walked away, she kept glancing at my sleeve, her curiosity impossible to hide. “Okay, I have to ask… that snake was real, right? Where did it even go?”
A faint smile curved at my lips. I flipped my hand lightly, and Ivory appeared again, coiled neatly in my palm.
Its scales caught the sunlight, shifting with a subtle, almost iridescent sheen, its small triangular head nudging lightly against my fingers.
Tessa leaned in immediately, eyes lighting up. “Wow… it’s actually really beautiful. But why a snake? Doesn’t it ever bite you?‘
I gently brushed my fingers along its scales, my voice softening without realizing it. “I found it in the woods when I was a kid. I’ve raised it for years. It won’t bite me.”
Then I added, “But don’t touch it. It feeds on wolfsbane. Its venom is extremely potent. Even a high–tier wolf wouldn’t walk away unharmed from a bite.”
Tessa immediately pulled her hand back. “Yeah, I’m definitely not touching it.”
There was a clear shift in her expression now, curiosity mixed with caution.
I let out a small laugh.

She blinked, then smiled along with me, studying my face. “You really should smile more. You look way better when you do.”
My smile paused for just a moment.
There was a time when that came easily. Before I returned to the Soren estate.
“Nira, Tessa.” Derrick called out as he approached.
I turned to look at him.
Tessa didn’t waste a second. “So? Did Leland agree to help?”
Derrick shook his head, his expression tightening slightly. “No. Getting into the school forum backend is a serious violation. If he gets caught, the consequences won’t be minor. It could even impact the entire system. Honestly, I understand why he refused.”
Tessa let out a frustrated groan. “Then what are we supposed to do? If we can’t find who made that post, people are just going to keep spreading those rumors about Nira.”
I glanced at her. “What post?”
She turned immediately and explained everything, from the forum thread to the accusations being spread.
So that’s why those people stopped me earlier.
吐
“Nira, don’t let it get to you,” Tessa added quickly. “Once we find the person behind it,
everything will clear up.
I shook my head slightly, unconcerned. This kind of situation didn’t matter. Not to someone who would one day take over Silvermoon Pack.
I gestured lightly for her to follow. “Come on.”
She blinked, confused. “Wait, where are we going?”
I looked at her, a faint, knowing smile returning. “You’ll see. Let’s find somewhere with a computer first.”
