He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 154

Lawrence had let her go because he truly believed she wasn’t a threat anymore. If he ever found out she’d been faking, she wouldn’t have made it this far.

Now Theresia’s biggest problem was figuring out how to get that nurse to admit she’d been pretending and convince her to testify. After what happened last time, Theresia knew better than to rush in. She couldn’t talk to the nurse herself or she’d risk tipping Lawrence off.

She thought about it for a while, then turned to Carl. “Carl, can I ask you to stick around the nursing home for a bit longer and keep an eye on things for me? I’ll pay you extra, of course.”

Carl grinned. “As long as the money’s good, I’m in.”

After they went their separate ways, Theresia got in her car and headed for Kaston. Her mind wouldn’t settle the whole drive. She kept running through possible ways to get the nurse to testify willingly. She came up with a plan, but there was one tricky part—she’d probably need help from that man.

Kaston.

Garry was awake, but he was weak and burning up with fever. Warren gave him some medicine, then tore open a fever patch. He was about to stick it on Garry’s forehead, but Garry shot him a look.

“That’s for kids. I’m not using it. Take it away.”

Warren tried to reason with him, holding up the patch. “Come on, Garry. This helps lower your temperature. It really works.”

Garry’s face was stormy. He wasn’t buying it. “Take it away. Don’t make me say it again.”

After a long pause, Garry’s expression got even darker. “I might not have much time left, but I’m not going out alone. Warren, set it up. Send my dear uncle a little present from me.”

Hearing Garry talk like that made Warren’s chest tighten. Almost no one knew about Garry’s rare disease—just Barnett and a couple of Garry’s closest people. They kept it secret to keep the company steady.

Warren’s brows drew together. He wasn’t feeling great, but he nodded. “Alright. I’ll take care of it.”

Warren had just stepped out of the bedroom to make the call when Theresia showed up at the door.

He brightened right away when he saw her. “Teresa, what a nice surprise. Are you here to see Garry?”
