He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 201

Lawrence had never known any life outside the orphanage. The director always told him he’d been found abandoned at the front door, just a few days old, so tiny and weak that nobody expected him to survive. Somehow, he did.

He grew up quiet and withdrawn, which only made him an easy target for the other kids. The only one who ever treated him kindly was Patti. Because of her, Lawrence made a promise to himself that he’d always protect her, no matter what.

But nobody can see what’s coming next.

He never expected Patti to change so completely, or that his heart would end up belonging to someone else.

Now, Teresa stood frozen, barely breathing, catching Lawrence’s wild expression out of the corner of her eye. “Lawrence, if you turn yourself in now, you still have a chance. Don’t make this worse than it already is.”

Lawrence let out a cold, bitter laugh. “A chance? Theresia, I’m not stupid. I’ve done enough to get the death penalty ten times over. Turning myself in won’t change anything for me.”

Talking him down felt hopeless. Lawrence had hit a dead end, and she could see he was ready to drag her down with him if it came to that.

Teresa’s brow tightened, blood streaking her pale face.

Who actually wants to die if there’s a way out? She was no exception.

She glanced at the officers nearby, their guns pointed right at Lawrence. If he lost focus for even a second, he’d be shot.

Lost focus…?

Suddenly, an idea sparked in her mind.

She braced herself, not letting her guard down for a second. Then, she spoke up. “Lawrence, do you remember our child? The one we never got to meet?”

He froze, something shifting in his eyes.

Teresa kept going. “Do you even know how much I went through, just to try and have that baby with you?”

Her strength vanished all at once. Teresa’s knees gave out.

Before she could hit the ground, strong arms caught her.

Garry lifted her up, worry etched in his face. “We’re going to the hospital, right now,” he said, his voice rough with emotion.

He carried her quickly, his eyes locking with Lawrence’s for a moment.

In that instant, Garry’s expression turned ice-cold, hard as stone.

Lawrence glared back, his bloodshot eyes full of anger and desperation. He kept staring as Garry finally looked away and walked on.

Even then, Lawrence’s gaze didn’t budge. As Garry passed, the wind caught his suit jacket, and Lawrence caught a glimpse of a familiar logo.
