He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 96

A sharp, cold glint flashed in Theresia’s eyes. She didn’t even hesitate. Grabbing the bottle of red wine, she swung it straight at Lawrence’s head.

Wine splashed everywhere. Lawrence staggered, looking completely shocked. Theresia stared him down with an icy gaze, a slow smirk curving her lips. “Honestly, I’ve wanted to do that since the last time I saw you.”

She tossed aside the broken bottle, wiped her hands, and walked out without looking back.

Lawrence just stood there. Blood mixed with wine trailed down his cheek. He didn’t flinch, didn’t even seem to feel the pain. He looked like a statue, numb and silent, though his red-rimmed eyes glimmered with something unreadable.

The woman who used to go out of her way to cheer him up when he was down had just smashed a bottle over his head.

She used to love him. She really did. How did it get to this point?

A sharp ache twisted through Lawrence’s chest. He clenched his fists so hard his knuckles popped.

Theresia hurried out of the lounge. As she reached the stairs, she nearly ran right into Garry.

He looked her up and down. “Why are you sweating?”

She took a breath, steadying herself. “It’s nothing. Just cracked someone’s skull, I guess my adrenaline’s still spiking.”

Garry glanced past her, his expression turning cold for a second. “Okay. Let’s go.”

It didn’t really sink in at first. As they walked down the stairs together, it finally hit her.

“Wait, were you looking for me on purpose?” she asked.

Garry didn’t try to hide it. He stood tall beside her. “Didn’t see Lawrence, couldn’t find you. Figured I should check.”

She met his eyes, searching for something. He added, “We’re allies, remember? For now, I’d rather not lose my partner.”

For a second, Theresia’s mind went blank. What had she been hoping he’d say? She must be losing it.

She gave a little nod. “Got it. By the way, did you find the person you were here to see?”

Even with a fifty-fifty shot, she missed.

Theresia patted her shoulder. “Genius move.”

Helena beamed. “See? I knew I’d get it right. I’m a total genius.”

Hanson groaned. “Helena, promise me you’ll only drink with Theresia and me from now on.”

“Why?” she asked, squinting.

Theresia teased, “Your genius image can’t handle any more hits.”

Helena frowned, trying to work that out. She was obviously wasted.

But Theresia was sharp and sober. She nudged Hanson, her smile fading, voice turning serious. “Patti found out who my real father is.”
