He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 545

Inside the hotel.

"Did he do anything to you?" Julian murmured to her.

She shook her head. "No. He doesn't suspect who I really am. He likely just asked a few probing questions because he knows we're married."

"What kind of questions?" he pressed.

They were so close that their words were meant only for each other.

"Helena," she said softly.

Julian immediately understood and let out a cynical scoff.

She didn't elaborate.

With her stolen away by Julian, Sebastian was left without a partner, standing quietly on the edge of the floor.

A deep, scrutinizing gleam filled his eyes, though his expression remained perfectly neutral.

Janetta hurried over to his side.

"Sebastian?" she asked tentatively. "Shall we dance?"

"No need," he rejected her flatly.

"Why not? We're husband and wife, it's perfectly normal," she pleaded.

He ignored her, slipping his hand back into his pocket.

Seeing his cold refusal, her frustration spiked wildly.

She paraded around under the title of Mrs. Hayes.

Yet here he was, completely undermining her.

He wouldn't even share a simple dance with her.

With so many eyes on them, her composure finally shattered.

"You'll dance with her, but you won't dance with me?" she choked out, her eyes reddening.

At the mention of that name, his sharp gaze snapped to her.

"She's not Helena. They just happen to share a name. She's married. She's Julian's wife," Janetta desperately reminded him.

"You're stepping out of line, Janetta," he warned, his voice dangerously low.

She flinched violently at his tone.

Having been with him for so long, she could accurately read the subtle shifts in his mood.

He was furious.

Terrified of pushing him too far, she immediately clamped her mouth shut.

After a tense pause, she scrambled to apologize. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it."
