Chapter 126
Chapter 126
A faint pulse stirred in Lyra’s lower abdomen, then quickly faded.
Lyra stayed still, her breathing steady. Three seconds later, another pulse hit, stronger this time, carrying a touch of warmth Lyra felt a rush of excitement, and she guided the sensation toward her palms.
In an instant, the warmth surged upward from her lower abdomen, splitting at her chest and racing down both arms, one stream to her left hand, the other to her right.
Just like the handwritten book said, control the flame with your will.
Lyra poured all her focus into her left palm, her mind locked onto a single word.
Gather.
The heat in her palm suddenly spiked, something rising from beneath her skin, converging at the center of her palm. It swelled, pulsed, and stretched out.
A tiny flame appeared in her palm.
Lyra’s eyes flew open. The flame was still there, not a trick of the mind, not her imagination. It was real. She’d done it.
She couldn’t help but grin, ready to share the good news, but as she looked up, her smile faltered, something was off.
The Ghost Wall had pulled back. Lyra was still sitting cross-legged in midair, but now the wall had retreated two meters in every direction, leaving her completely alone in the center of a small empty space.
The souls were still dazed and expressionless, but their bodies had shifted, all of them avoiding her. Lyra looked around, and every soul was backing away, keeping their distance from her.
“Lyra!” Ivana called out, her voice coming from a couple meters away.
Ivana’s soul, short blonde hair shining, stood peeking out from a gap in the Ghost Wall, half her body out, the other half tucked behind an old man’s soul.
Lyra shot her a look. “What’s up?”
“That thing that just popped out of you…” Ivana edged back, her blue eyes glued to Lyra’s left hand. “That… did you pull it
off?”
Lyra glanced down at her palm. The flame was still there. She swept her gaze around, and sure enough, everyone in the Ghost Wall, young or old, was steering clear of her.
Lyra flipped her wrist and relaxed her mind. The flame snuffed out, her palm cooled and settled.
The souls in the Ghost Wall stayed put, keeping the same distance from Lyra, but at least they stopped retreating.
Ivana peeked out from behind the old man’s soul, waited a couple more seconds to make sure the flame was really gone. then floated over.
“I did it,” Lyra said, opening her palm to show her. “The flame gathered right in my hand.”
Ivana stopped about an arm’s length away, keeping her distance and not daring to get any closer.
“Are you really afraid of this flame?” Lyra asked.
Ivana nodded vigorously. “It’s more than just fear.”

Chapter 126
She shuddered. “When that flame flared up in your hand, I was trembling from head to toe It felt like
She waved her hand, searching for words. “Like I’d met my nemesis, like it could wipe out my soul in a heartbeat”
Lyra didn’t press her. If the flame was gathered in her palm, it could burn away evil; if she let it flow through her body. It would keep the darkness at bay.
That covered offense and defense, but there was nothing about healing or restoring a soul. Those thirty-seven pages hal nothing on that, she’d have to figure it out herself.
Lyra glanced at Ivana, noticing the lingering fear in her eyes. Seeing Ivana like this, Lyra swallowed the urge to ask her toy again.
Trying again would just hurt her.
Ivana had no answers when it came to the Vital Flame and soul transfer.
Lyra could only pin her hopes on Jane now.
Once the fifteen minutes were up, Lyra fished out her last green flare from her waist, twisted off the cap, and aimed it at the sky. The green beam shot through the gray mist, exploding into a bright burst in the air.
“Fifteen minutes are up,” Ivana said.
As soon as Ivana finished speaking, Lyra had already pulled out Jane’s Soul Deck card.
“Soul Deck, release,” Lyra said.
A burst of white light shot out, and Jane’s soul peeled away from the card, her form taking shape in midair.
As soon as she appeared, Jane lifted her right hand, turned her palm over, and clenched her fist.
Lyra leaned in. “How do you feel?”
“Yeah, I felt it,” Jane replied, her voice a bit quicker than usual.
“When I was inside the card, I could actually feel how the energy flowed in,” Jane said, speaking a little faster than usual. T remember the whole path now.”
Lyra’s soul shot forward. “So, where did it come in?”
“Right at the top of my head,” Jane replied, tapping her crown. “It flowed in here, slid down my spine, spread out at my core. and then washed over my whole body.”
She slid her finger from her crown to her chest, then down to her stomach.
“It didn’t go through my hands or my mouth, just flowed straight in from the top,” Jane added.
Lyra narrowed her eyes. “Crown, spine, core, then the whole body
“Exactly,” Jane said, then looked up at Ivana.
Ivana had just gotten over the shock from the flame. When she caught Jane’s gaze, she asked, “Should I try first?”
“Really appreciate it, Ivana. We can only figure this out if we work together,” Jane said, a bit sheepish.
Ivana took a deep breath, floated over to face Jane, and brushed her short blonde hair back.
“Alright, let’s do this. So I just stay still and do nothing, right? Like a rock?” Ivana said.
Chapter 126
“Yeah, just be a rock. Jane replied.
Jane raised her right hand, holding it above Ivana’s head, palm facing down, hovering right over her crown.
“Alright, here goes,” Jane said.
Jane closed her eyes.
Her soul energy gathered at her core, pushed up along her spine, and poured into her palm, a faint glow began to flow down from her hand.
One second.
