Hide and Seek: The Mad Girl Sees All novel Chapter 140

Chapter 140

Chapter 140

Lina wiped her face, her nose still red, her voice muffled and a little embarrassed. “Ivana, really thank you.”

Ivana tilted her head. “What are you thanking me for?”

“Thanks for listening to all my nonsense,” Lina sniffled, looking down and straightening her collar. “I really made a fool of myself just now.”

“Not at all,” Ivana floated over to her. You weren’t crying because you got hurt, you were upset because you used up three items and were worried about making it through the game. That’s not embarrassing, Lina. That’s actually heroic

Lina blinked, then couldn’t help but smile, her tears finally drying up.

She rubbed her eyes and asked seriously, “Ivana, where’s Lyra?”

Ivana closed her eyes, feeling the card’s pull. That familiar, faint connection was coming from the northeast.

“Northeast,” Ivana said.

She opened her eyes and floated over to the door on the right. “Come with me.”

Lina followed without a second thought.

Lyra grabbed Lil Lily and pushed open three doors in a row.

The first was a bedroom, no good, way too much furniture.

The second was a study, also no good, those bookshelves could flatten someone if they fell.

The third one,

“Dance studio!” Lil Lily’s eyes lit up. “Goddess Lyra, it’s just like the one I was just in!”

Lyra glanced around. The walls were padded with soft bumpers, the mirrors were welded to the walls, and the dance bars were steel, bolted firmly into the wall.

Lyra looked up at the countdown.

[Hideout Countdown: 10:32]

“Jane, I’m not going to seal you this round,” Lyra said, pointing at Lil Lily. “Try using your Soul Power to wrap her up.

Jane glanced at Lil Lily. “Wrap her up completely?”

“Exactly, just like you did with the weapons and signal flares, envelop her completely,” Lyra said.

“No problem,” Jane replied.

“Lil Lily, same as last round, grab onto the bar for extra safety,” Lyra said.

“Got it.” Lil Lily replied.

Lil Lily hurried to the nearest bar, wrapped her arms around it, and twined her legs as well, clinging tightly.

Lyra glanced at her position, her lips twitching, but she didn’t say anything.

She turned to Jane. Jane, can you split your Soul Power in two? Like, send it in two directions at once?”

Jane thought for a moment. “Yeah, I can, but it’ll be a bit thinner, less concentrated.”

“As long as it works,” Lyra said.

Lyra walked over to Lil Lily, grabbed the same bar with both hands, and gently pulled Lil Lily into her arms

“Make it two streams, one for Lil Lily, one for me,” Lyra said.

Jane’s Soul Power burst out, splitting into two glowing flows. One wrapped around Lil Lily, the other around Lyra, a glowing layer hugging their skin, wrapping each of them up tight.

Lyra glanced at Jane. “Jane.”

“Yeah?” Jane replied.

“If the game splits me and Lil Lily up when the room changes…” Lyra said.

Jane finished her sentence. “I’ll go with Lil Lily.”

“How did you know that’s what I was going to say?” Lyra asked.

“You always put yourself last.” Jane drifted closer. “But Lyra, you really need to take care of yourself too.”

[Hideout Countdown: 10:06]

Lina barely entered the bathroom when she caught the countdown ticking away on the wall out of the corner of her eye.

“Ivana.” Lina’s face drained of color. “There’s no time!”

She scanned the room, spotted a metal shower pipe welded to the wall. Lina dashed over and clung to it for dear life, wrapping both arms tightly around it.

Ivana reacted even faster. She unleashed her Soul Power, a thin film instantly enveloping Lina from head to toe.

The countdown hit zero.

The bathroom started to flip.

The sink ripped free from the wall and crashed down, but Ivana’s Soul Power threw up a shield, stopping it cold.

Towels and bottles went flying toward Lina, but every single one bounced right off her.

Lina let out a sigh of relief.

The next second, the room flipped upside down.

The ceiling became the floor, and Lina was left dangling from the shower pipe, blood rushing to her head until her face turned bright red. Her arms were burning from holding all her weight.

Ivana saw Lina’s face getting red and called out, “Let go.”

Lina stared, wide-eyed. “Huh?”

“Just let go. Trust me,” Ivana urged.

Lina gritted her teeth and let go. The moment she released the pipe, she braced herself for a fall.

But instead, a force caught her. Lina floated in midair, surrounded by flying bathroom supplies and a spinning room yet she was completely still, wrapped in Ivana’s Soul Power.

Like a bubble protected from the chaos, Lina stared at Ivana, her mouth hanging open in awe.

Lina thought, ‘So… so amazing…

“Jane, you’re amazing.” Lil Lily’s eyes sparkled with pure admiration.
