Chapter 149
Blake pushed the door open and glanced down at the blue guide line in his field of vision. It stretched out from his feet. passed through the wall, and curved toward the northeast.
He licked his lips, his fingers brushing over the trigger of his crossbow.
“Lily.” Blake muttered, a sly, mocking laugh bubbling up from his throat.
Who would’ve thought that, besides the usual items, the treasure chest actually had a “cheat sheet” for beating the game
Yeah, Blake remembered the chest he’d opened, there wasn’t a single item inside, just a thin slip of paper
[Hunter’s Cheat Sheet]
[You can choose the regular route: Kill 2 players.]
[Or you can go for the special route: Kill the designated player and clear the game instantly.]
[Designated Target: Lily, Draconia Player.]
[If you complete the special route, you’ll get: All of the target’s items, any two items from the game’s prize pool, and a bye for the next round.]
Blake’s heart was still pounding in his chest after reading that slip of paper.
Instantly clear the game.
Two items from the prize pool.
All of Lily’s items.
A bye for the next round.
He pressed his tongue against his back teeth. “She’s just a kid.”
If those people were all together, he wouldn’t dare make a move. But now, things were different, this mission splits everyone up every ten minutes.
Even if they tried to protect Lily, it wouldn’t last. If he got lucky and found her alone behind a door, he’d take care of it, easy.
Killing a kid, how hard could it be?
The more Blake thought about it, the more excited he got, and before he knew it, he was walking faster.
“Kill her, and I’ll be the strongest,” Blake said, then pushed open the door in front of him.
The room was a gym. As soon as Blake stepped inside, the blue line in his vision suddenly shifted, instead of pointing north, it veered off to the west.
His face darkened. “Damn it.”
“That kid’s on the move again. How the hell does she keep running away?” Blake thought.
Blake cursed under his breath, turned, and pushed open the door to the west. “Run all you want.”
He gripped his crossbow tighter. “The longer you run, the more stuff you’ll have on you. When I catch you, I’ll just take it all
at once.”

Lil Lily slipped into the lounge behind Jane. There was a sofa, a coffee table, and a few magazines stacked on the cabinet.
Lil Lily instantly spotted the corner of a chest sticking out from under the sofa. “Big Sis Jane! A treasure chest!”
She crouched down, grabbed the chest with both hands, and hauled it onto the sofa.
Jane hovered nearby, scanning the room. “Go ahead, open it.”
Lil Lily rubbed her hands together. “Mom, please bless me, let this be something useful!”
She lifted the lid, and inside was a small silver hairpin, with a little red heart at the tip.
A slip of paper sat beside it.
[Congratulations on finding a valid treasure chest! Please collect your reward item.]
[Warning Hairpin: When worn, if a player with murderous intent gets close, the hairpin will light up red. Unlimited uses.]
Lil Lily’s eyes sparkled. “Wow!”
She grabbed the hairpin and slipped it into her hair. “Big Sis Jane! This is just right for me.”
Jane looked at the hairpin on Lil Lily’s head and smiled. “That’s a nice find.”
Lil Lily reached up and touched it. “Now I’m safe.”
Jane was about to say something when she heard footsteps pounding closer. She glanced at the eastern door. “Someone’s coming.
Lil Lily jumped off the sofa. Jane’s figure vanished, and her soul power enveloped Lil Lily in a thin, protective layer, shielding her completely.
Lil Lily touched the hairpin in her hair and whispered, “Is it a Hunter?”
“Just wait for him to come in,” Jane replied.
The next second, the door was pushed open.
Blake stood in the doorway, chest heaving and sweat on his brow. He paused, surprised to see Lil Lily, then his eyes flicked to the blue guide line in his vision, it pointed straight at her.
“There she is,” Blake thought.
“At last!” he thought.
His gaze shifted to the empty chest on the coffee table, then to the hairpin glinting in Lil Lily’s hair.
Lil Lily took a step back, her hands reaching for the items in her pockets. “Are you here to kill me?”
Blake didn’t understand Draconian. The kid was saying something, and she looked pretty serious about it, whatever it was.
He smirked, raised his crossbow, and aimed it at Lil Lily. “Little girl, give me your…”
But before he could finish, his throat was suddenly squeezed tight. Some invisible force clamped around his neck and yanked him upward. Blake’s feet left the ground, and his crossbow slipped from his hands, clattering to the floor.
He clawed desperately at his neck, panic flooding his mind. ‘What the hell is this? There’s only a little girl here. What the hell

is strangling me?’
He tried to shout, but only a broken, gasping sound escaped his throat. “Kh… kh…”
Lil Lily looked up at him, blinking in surprise. ‘He just walked in, barely had time to raise his weapon or finish his line, and Big Sis Jane already had him dangling in the air,’ she thought.
Lil Lily wondered, ‘Aren’t villains supposed to rant and make threats first? Why is this moving so fast? It’s nothing like what happens on TV!’
Blake’s legs kicked wildly, his face turning red from the strain.
Lil Lily quickly called out, “Big Sis Jane, don’t kill him yet! Don’t kill him!”
Jane appeared, turning to look at her. “What do you want him for?”
She kept her grip tight, Blake was still hanging in midair, his throat squeezed so hard all he could do was wheeze and choke.
Lil Lily dashed over, scooped up the crossbow from the floor, and hugged it to her chest, then looked back at Jane.
“Goddess Lyra and Lina are both Hunters, they probably have their own targets, right?” Lil Lily said.
Jane paused, a little surprised.
Lil Lily said seriously, “Let’s leave him for Goddess Lyra or Lina. No sense letting him go to waste.”
Jane looked at her and nodded. “Okay.”
Jane tightened her grip, her soul power wrapping around Blake and pinning him down. He crashed to the floor with a heavy thud, curling up and gasping for air.
Once he’d caught his breath, Blake looked up at Lil Lily and the eerie spirit hovering behind her, his eyes full of terror. ‘Why did nobody tell me this kid had such a powerful Wraith guarding her?’ he thought.
Lil Lily hugged the crossbow to her chest and crouched down in front of him, ready to “interrogate” him a little. Judging by his looks, he probably spoke English.
Lil Lily cleared her throat, then tried her best to mimic English, “How ah you?”
Blake was still gasping for air, too stunned to respond.
Lil Lily added, still imitating, “Nice tuh meet yuu.”
Blake blurted out, “Help! Please! Don’t kill me!”
Lil Lily frowned, not really getting what he said. That wasn’t the phrase she’d practiced.
She held up a finger, correcting him, totally earnest. “That’s not right.”
Blake was confused. “What?”
