Turning back to Jasmine, she snarled, “Get out! And don’t you dare come near Leo ever again!”
Jasmine had no choice but to swallow her anger and leave. It was better to just get out of there. Right now. no amount of explaining would save her.
But Theodore stepped out, blocking Jasmine’s path.
“Felicity is my daughter, and Leo is my grandson. Bullying them means you’re bullying me,” Theodore said, his thuggish nature slipping through. “You think you can just torment my family and walk away scot- free? It’s not that simple.”
Turning to Madeline, he continued, “Since Ms. Thorne is so convinced Leo isn’t a Vance, we might as well do the paternity test. That should put an end to all these doubts about his parentage once and for all.”
“I know my own great-grandson when I see him!” Madeline insisted. “There is absolutely no need for a test.”
Theodore’s eyes turned cold. “No, we have to do it. It’s the only way to shut the mouths of these schemers and clear my daughter’s name.”
“Theodore, you’re making too much of this.”
“Madeline!” Theodore snapped, feigning righteous indignation. “I think a test is exactly what we need. I won’t let a manipulative viper ruin my daughter’s reputation.”
With that, Theodore snatched the blood collection needle from Felicity’s hand.
“Look closely, Madeline. This is your great-grandson’s blood. I’m going to have it sent to the lab right now so you can see for yourself that my grandson is a Vance. But just to be safe, I’ll need you to come with me to ensure no one tries to spin any more lies or manufacture any more rumors.”
Seeing how furious Theodore was, Madeline tried to appease him. She angrily grabbed the needle back, threw it into the trash can, and screamed at Jasmine.
“Jasmine! You listen to me. From this moment on, you are no longer a daughter-in-law of this family. The Vance family has no room for a vicious, cold-blooded woman like you. Get out of here right now, and don’t ever come back!”
Madeline meant every word, but she was also putting on a performance for Theodore. Deep down, she desperately wanted to avoid any friction with him.
“Hold on,” Theodore said, refusing to back down. “If we just let her walk away, then my grandson suffered for nothing, and my daughter went down on her knees for no reason. Ms. Thorne!”
He pressed forward, a menacing sneer twisting his face. “Don’t you think you owe me an explanation?”
“What kind of explanation?” Jasmine asked.
She stared back at his hostile glare without a hint of fear, a mocking smile on her lips. Watching them play

off each other was utterly repulsive.
Fine. Since they had backed her into a corner, she might as well drop the pleasantries entirely.

“Even if the child belongs to the Vance family, he isn’t the son of Felicity’s husband, Julian. He’s the son of my husband, Silas. So, Theodore, how do you explain that?”
Jasmine looked around the room, continuing at a calm, unhurried pace.
“Shouldn’t the Vance family also explain to the public why Felicity’s baby belongs to Silas? And shouldn’t someone explain whether my dear sister-in-law used my husband’s frozen sperm for artificial insemination, or…” Jasmine paused intentionally, her smile dripping with sarcasm. “…or if this child is the result of Felicity and my husband passionately sleeping together?”
The hospital room went dead silent.
Madeline and Victoria exchanged frantic glances. They had assumed Jasmine was completely in the dark, never imagining she had known the truth all along-and certainly not expecting her to lay it out so bluntly.
Since she had nothing left to lose, Jasmine bared it all.
“You’ve all been plotting to kick me out of the Vance family just to pave the way for Felicity to take my place as Silas’s wife. Fine. I don’t care.” Facing their stunned stares, Jasmine remained entirely composed. “The moment my husband asks for a divorce himself, I’ll grant it. However…”
