Chapter 131 Sleeping with the Owner

As it turned out, Jasmine loved them.

The birthday dinner was held at Celestial Garden.

Alongside the immediate Vance family, several of Silas’s uncles and aunts had also shown up/With all the extended relatives gathered, it was quite an impressive turnout, giving Chloe plenty of face. Theodore however, was a no-show, likely still sulking over his massive financial losses.

When Jasmine arrived, the entire group was huddled in the Celestial Garden lobby.

It turned out Silas had forgotten to book a private room, and the host was telling them that only main dining hall seating was available. Silas’s face instantly darkened. As a regular and a VIP at Celestial Garden. the idea of sitting in the main hall was insulting.

The host tried desperately to explain. “I’m incredibly sorry, sir. Our private rooms require reservations days in advance. We never have any open for walk-ins.”

Madeline urged him along. “Silas, sort this out. The elders are all waiting around in the lobby.”

Just as Silas was about to lose his temper at the host, Felicity stepped in with a warm, placating smile to help. “Could you please fetch your manager? He’s been to the Vance estate before; he knows Mr. Vance.”

Not wanting to cause a scene, the host hurried off.

Moments later, the manager, Daniel, hurried out. Silas braced himself for the apology, expecting Daniel to address him. Instead, Daniel marched straight past him and went right up to Jasmine.

“Ms. Thorne, we had no idea you were coming. I am so terribly sorry,” Daniel said smoothly. “I’ve already instructed the staff to clear out our absolute best private room for you immediately. If you could just give us a brief moment, Ms. Thorne. To make up for the oversight, we’ll be sending two bottles of red wine up to your room on the house. We hope you’ll overlook this little mishap.”

Jasmine stood there completely blank for a moment.

Was the manager actually talking to her?

Then it hit her. She had almost forgotten that Celestial Garden belonged to Ethan and Caleb.

Which of them had orchestrated this?

Silas was too stunned to speak. Victoria and Madeline exchanged bewildered glances, entirely losing face. They couldn’t fathom why the manager of Celestial Garden would give Jasmine this kind of special

treatment.

If anyone deserved a grand gesture, shouldn’t it be the Vance family?

Feeling slighted, Madeline said coldly, “Until the divorce certificate is finalized, you are still a daughter-in- law of the Vance family. And even after it goes through, the agreement strictly forbids making it public for six months. When you are out in public, mind your behavior. Don’t forget your status or the terms of your

Jasmine let out an amused, mocking laugh. “Grandma, you don’t actually think I’m sleeping with the owner of Celestial Garden, do you? Is that why you think they’re showing me respect instead of the Vance family?” She pointedly emphasized the last words.

Madeline wanted to snap, but because it was her beloved granddaughter’s birthday, she forced herself to swallow her anger.

Victoria, however, was entirely tactless. “Sounds like a confession to me. Are you secretly lining up your next target while plotting your divorce from Silas? You’ve been living high on the hog with the Vance family for so long that you probably can’t handle a normal life anymore. Your next catch has to be rich so you’re throwing yourself at high society men.”

Jasmine tilted her head, locking eyes with Silas. “See that, Silas? Getting a divorce is absolutely the right

choice.”

Without waiting for a response, she turned and walked upstairs.

Unable to snap at Madeline directly, Silas took his frustration out on Victoria instead.

“Jasmine isn’t who you think she is, so could you please stop stirring up trouble? I’ve already signed the divorce papers. Just give me a few days of peace and quiet!”

With that, he stormed off.

Victoria glared after him, fuming. “The nerve of him! Talking to me like that-what an ungrateful son!”

Madeline’s anger, however, had cooled. “Silas has a point. The divorce papers are signed, so leave it alone. If that woman decides to spite you and changes her mind, it’s only going to cause more trouble.”

Victoria pointed at herself. “How am I the one causing trouble? It’s not-”

Before she could finish, Madeline walked away too.

That left only Felicity, who stood frozen in place. “Aunt Victoria, what you just said… Silas is getting a divorce?”

“That’s right,” Victoria replied.

Felicity’s mind raced, caught between a wave of joy and a sudden sting of resentment. Silas was getting a divorce-the very thing she had been praying for. Yet, he hadn’t said a word to her about something this massive. The entire Vance family knew, while she had been kept completely in the dark.

Victoria suddenly realized what she’d done. “Felicity, Silas didn’t tell you?”

Felicity bit her lip and shook her head.

“How could he not tell you?” Victoria muttered, genuinely perplexed. “That doesn’t make any sense.”

To save face, Felicity quickly made an excuse. “He’s probably just been too busy. Or maybe he assumed
