Jasmine’s breath caught as the image of Silas’s car rocking back and forth yesterday flashed across her mind.
Did her father find out about them? Was he so furious that…
Yes! It had to be Silas!
He had said it himself-he wished her father would never wake up. Because he wanted to take over Thorne Enterprises!
The pieces falling into place only made Jasmine spiral further into despair.
Right then, Silas walked in with Felicity by his side.
Jasmine lunged forward without a word and slapped Silas hard across the face.
Everyone in the room gasped.
It took Silas a long moment to process what had happened, and he raised his hand to strike back. But looking at her deathly pale face and trembling lips, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.
Seeing Silas get hit broke Felicity’s heart. “Jasmine! Why did you slap Silas?!”
Smack!
Another slap landed squarely on Felicity’s face.
Felicity clutched her cheek. “Jasmine! Have you completely lost your mind?!”
When you lose someone you love so suddenly, your mind shatters, leaving you utterly helpless against the suffocating agony.
“Yes! I am crazy!” Jasmine snarled. “I was crazy to ever love you, Silas! Crazy to throw away my dignity just to marry you! I was crazy to drag my feet on this divorce! If I had known you were such a monster, I would have ended it a long time ago! And I was crazy to look the other way yesterday when I caught the two of you hooking up in that car! I should have filmed you two miserable dogs screwing around and posted it online! I should have let the whole world see what kind of filthy, disgusting things the prestigious Vance family does behind closed doors!”
Silas was too guilt-ridden to speak. “You… so yesterday… You were the one who knocked on the window?”
“It was me!” Jasmine spat. “Silas, I’ve never met a more shameless, disgusting animal than you!”
“Jasmine!” Silas flared up in anger. “Can we talk about this like civilized adults? Do you really have to resort to such foul language?”
Jasmine pointed a finger straight at the exit. “Get out! I have nothing to say to you!”
Felicity shrank behind Silas, her eyes brimming with tears. “Jasmine, what happened yesterday wasn’t

Silas’s fault. It was… it was me…”
“Shut up!”
“Shut up!”
Silas and Jasmine snapped at the exact same time.
Silas forced his rising temper down. “I came here today to pay my respects to Arthur. We should respecy the dead, so whatever issues we have can wait until later.”
He tried to step past her, but Jasmine shoved him back with all her might.
“Get the hell out of here! You killed my father! Don’t you dare stand there and pretend to care!”
Silas frowned deeply. “What kind of nonsense are you spouting now? When did I ever kill your father?”
Hugh suddenly jumped in. “Silas, what the hell did you say to my dad last night? He took a turn for the worse the second he got back. You must have said something to upset him. You damn well knew he couldn’t handle that kind of stress right now!”
The accusation triggered Silas’s memory of the previous night, bringing back a sudden wave of regret.
Last night, his desires had flared up out of nowhere. Combined with Felicity’s calculated words and physical seduction, his willpower had completely crumbled. He had initially wanted to keep things restrained for the sake of her health, but he never expected her to go down on him. The intoxicating, exquisite pleasure of it had completely hooked him. Even now, just thinking about it made his stomach tighten.
Once they were finished, Silas had intended to go home and rest, but a sudden urge to check on his child took over. He and Felicity headed to the hospital, and that was when they crossed paths with Arthur.
At the time, Felicity still had her arm looped affectionately through Silas’s, and Arthur had taken in the whole intimate display. Surprisingly, he hadn’t lost his temper. He had simply asked, “Silas, can we have a
