If anything, Eleanor had been meticulously calculating and guarding against Jasmine’s every move
Without hesitation, Jasmine quickly signed her name-neat and precise.
“All done?”
Eleanor stared at the elegant handwriting, taking a moment to truly believe it was real.
“You won’t regret this?”
“Would it change anything if I did? The agreement is already in effect.”
“I don’t get it,” Eleanor admitted, completely puzzled. “How can you walk away from all that money? Once you leave the Vance family, you’ll have nothing.”
Jasmine gave a faint, knowing smile. “What makes you think I’ll have nothing? As long as I have my hands and my mind, anything you have-anything the Vances have-I can build for myself, too.”
She paused, then added coolly, “And some things I’ll have, you never will.”
Eleanor dismissed it as empty boasting and didn’t bother to take it seriously.
“Now tell me,” Jasmine said, her voice turning cold. “Where is my mother?”
Eleanor slid another document across the table.
“Not so fast. Sign this one, too.”
Jasmine opened it and let out a dry, humorless laugh.
“You’ve really thought of everything.”
It was a severance agreement.
“By signing, you will cut all ties with the Thorne family. No matter what happened between you and the Vances in the future, the Thornes would not be dragged into it.”
Jasmine almost laughed out loud.
So that was it-Eleanor was terrified that once Jasmine divorced Silas, she’d come back expecting to live off the family fortune.
Without another word, Jasmine picked up the pen and signed.
“Satisfied?”
Eleanor was pleased with her compliance.
“Good.”

Chapter 166 Cutting All Ties
Jasmine pressed her lips together and stayed quiet for a few seconds.
“Are you planning to sell your shares in Thorne Enterprises to Silas?”
Eleanor was caught off guard.
“How did you know?”
Truthfully, Jasmine didn’t-not for sure.
She was fishing.

Silas had mentioned the idea in front of Arthur before, and with her father gone now, Jasmine guessed hé might be targeting Eleanor next.
“Was selling the company Silas’ idea-or did someone plant it in your ear?”
Eleanor saw no point in hiding it now.
“His assistant came to see me. Laid out all the pros and cons. Honestly, he made a lot of sense. Just the two of us, Hugh and I, we can barely keep control of the whole operation. And with all those seasoned old- timers lurking in the boardroom… Hugh isn’t cut out for their games. They’d eat him alive.
“So better to hand it over to someone who knows what they’re doing. That way, your father’s life’s work
can continue.”
Jasmine had nothing left to say.
That was Silas, through and through.
When it came to scheming his way into Thorne Enterprises, he never missed a beat.
The moment her father passed, his acquisition plans only accelerated.
She asked one last question.
“I’ll ask you one more time-are you sure you want to sell Thorne Enterprises to Silas?”
Eleanor was growing impatient.
“Why do you even care, Jasmine? Don’t forget-you’ve signed both agreements. From now on, you have nothing to do with this family. Poking your nose into this is none of your business. Understand?”
“Fine. Let’s keep this strictly business, then.”
Jasmine looked up, taking one last glance around the familiar surroundings.
“Since you’re selling the company, I expect you to return the six hundred million you borrowed from me -promptly.”
Now that she was sitting on all those assets, Eleanor couldn’t care less about the money.

Chapter 166 Cutting All Ties
“Just have Silas deduct it from the sale proceeds.”
A gold laugh escaped Jasmine’s lips.
“I forgot to mention that six hundred million didn’t come from Silas. It was mine.”
Eleanor’s face shifted to disbelief.
“How is that possible…”
