“We can spin it and say that woman did whatever she could to get a divorce and deliberately tried to trash the Vance family’s name,” Madeline added.

Felicity said, pressing herself close to Silas, her face full of worry. “But even so, the news about Silas getting divorced is still gonna get out. The good-husband image he’s built up over the years will be completely gone. That’ll have an impact on the company, and then…”

Silas frowned deeply and kept his mouth shut.

Felicity rested her head on his shoulder. “Silas, don’t worry. We’ll come up with something.”

Suddenly, Silas stood up.

Felicity jumped in surprise.

“Silas, what’s going on?”

Silas didn’t say a word. He just rushed off.

Felicity was about to follow him, but Theodore stopped her.

Theodore had a mean look on his face.

“At this point, there’s no way to keep the divorce under wraps. So, let’s make that bitch look like the bad guy.

“As long as she’s the one in the wrong, Silas can keep his good image, and the company won’t take a hit either.”

Victoria pestered him for more details. “What do you mean? What do you mean by ‘the one in the wrong?”

Madeline gave her a sharp glare.

“Victoria, take Felicity back to her room. We’ve got more to talk about.”

Victoria really didn’t want to.

“We’re in this situation. Do you really need to keep me in the dark? Just tell me.”

Madeline snapped, “Do as you’re told and go. Stop being so annoying.”

Felicity grabbed Victoria’s arm.

“Victoria, don’t make Grandma mad. I trust Grandma will handle Silas’ situation. Let’s not get in their way here.”

Victoria left reluctantly.

Madeline and Theodore went into the study.

Margaret knew it was Silas as soon as she heard the angry pounding on the door.

Jasmune was sitting at the dining table, sipping on the soup Margaret had made. Without a hurry, she said. Margaret, go to the room and stay with my mom. Don’t let Silas see her.

Margaret was a bit worried.

Jasmine, he’s not gonna hurt you, is he? The way he’s acting, he looks really angry. It’s scary.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll be okay. You go to your room. I’ll answer the door.”

After Margaret went back to her room. Jasmine took her time walking to the door.

Silas was standing outside, his face as pale as death, looking like he wanted to rip her to pieces.

Jasmine gave him a quick, disinterested look and then turned around and walked back inside.

Silas grabbed her arm.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing!”

Jasmine didn’t even bother to pull away. “Isn’t it obvious? I’m filing for divorce. Can’t you understand something that simple?”

Then she shook off his hand, sat back down at the table, and picked up her spoon to continue sipping her

soup.

Silas saw how calm she was, and it made him boil with anger.

“Didn’t we agree to end things amicably? You already signed the agreement. You’ll get every cent. Now you’re going back on your word and pulling this stunt? Jasmine, are you trying to ruin me?”

“You’re making it way too big a deal. I never wanted to ruin you. I just want a divorce.”

I already agreed to the divorce!” Silas slammed his fist on the table.

Jasmine lifted her eyes a little.

“This is my place. You break something, you pay for it. Silas, is this all you can do? Every time something goes wrong, you just start smashing things and throwing a tantrum?”

Silas was furious.

“You re pushing me to this! Jasmine, you knew what today was. Fine, you didn’t come to the party. But then you sent the divorce papers to the house on purpose. What are you trying to achieve? Just to make the Vance family look bad?”

Jasmine took a sip of soup and seemed really satisfied with it.

“This soup is great. Do you want a bowl?”

Silas was at a loss for words for a moment.

“Jasmine, I’m trying to have a serious conversation here!”

Jasmine gave a meaningful smile.
