Chapter 175 David Crowley
Chapter 175 David Crowley
“It doesn’t matter what happens to me. As long as you all are miserable, that’s good enough for me.
Silas’ knuckles cracked as he clenched his fists in anger.
“Jasmine, does it really have to be this way? Why can’t we just part on civil terms?”
Jasmine let out a cold, humorless laugh.
“Civil terms? Your family walked all over my dignity, and now you expect us to end things nicely? You’re asking for way too much.”
Silas’ jaw tightened.
“I’ll offer you one more thing. Drop the lawsuit, and I’ll talk to my grandmother about raising the divorce settlement to a hundred million.
“Jasmine, with a hundred million, you could live however you want for the rest of your life.”
He expected her to be tempted, but she remained perfectly composed. Her delicate lips curved into a graceful, dismissive smile as she replied softly, “I don’t care about it.”
Silas scoffed under his breath.
“You don’t care about a hundred million? Jasmine, don’t play games with me. Your own family cut you off. Once you leave the Vance name behind, you’ll have nothing-no connections, no real skills. What are you going to live on?”
Jasmine rested her chin in her hand, her large, clear eyes blinking slowly.
“What am I going to live on? You’ll find out soon enough.”
Silas stared at her delicate, almost teasing expression, unsure whether to stay angry or not. He released a heavy sigh, his voice softening slightly.
“Jasmine, please-can we just stop this? Let’s stick to what we agreed on before. Let’s get the divorce settled cleanly, and later… I’ll bring you back.”
Jasmine’s lips parted gently.
“I don’t want that.”
Silas glared at her for a long moment, completely out of ideas.
“Fine. Have it your way, then!”
He stood up angrily, ready to walk out.
A faint smile touched the corner of Jasmine’s mouth.

“But… since we were married, it’s not like there’s no room for negotiation at all.”
Silas paused mid-step.
“You’re messing with me.”
Jasmine gave a half-shrug. “Yeah, so what? I’m the one holding the cards now.”
Silas was so frustrated that he almost turned to leave for good.

After a long silence, he finally said, “You’re taking everything you went through with my family out on me. This is payback, isn’t it?”
Jasmine kept her chin propped on her hand and shook her head lightly.
“If you want to put it that way… let’s just call it karma.”
Silas pulled out a cigarette and placed it between his lips, reaching for his lighter.
Jasmine raised an eyebrow.
“No smoking. Otherwise, there’s nothing left to discuss.”
Irritated, Silas put the cigarette away.
“Fine. Tell me what you want.”
Jasmine crossed her arms and leaned back lazily in her chair, her gaze drifting away for a moment.
“I want you to buy Eleanor’s shares in Thorne Enterprises at the lowest possible price, and then transfer
them to me.”
Silas looked confused.
“If you want Eleanor’s shares, why not buy them from her yourself? You don’t need me for that.”
“Eleanor won’t sell to me, but she’ll sell to you. I know you’re already negotiating the price. Once you settle on a number, you’ll sign the contract.”
Silas thought it over for a long moment before it finally clicked.
“You’ve stirred up all this trouble just to get Thorne Enterprises back?”
Jasmine didn’t bother hiding it anymore.
“Yes. I want Thorne Enterprises.”
Silas let out a short laugh, though there was clear mockery in it.
“You’re overestimating yourself. Do you really think sending a court summons is enough to take Thorne Enterprises from me? Aren’t you dreaming?”

“Whether it’s a dream or not, we’ll have to wait and see. No need to jump to conclusions so soon… Mr
Vance.”
That repeated “Mr. Vance” made Silas’ chest tighten. The woman in front of him was still his wife-so close, yet suddenly feeling farther away than ever.
Back when she used to cling to him, he found it annoying and wished she would just disappear. Now that she was distant and ready to walk away for good, why did he feel so uneasy inside?
Had he actually fallen for her?
Jasmine’s index finger tapped lightly on the table a few times.
“You were right about one thing. I really don’t have anything left to lose.
