“Exactly,” Jasmine sighed. “Then you should understand my position. My hopes for Chloe are the same as your hopes for Leo.
“Or are you saying you only care about Leo’s future and don’t give a damn about what kind of person Chloe becomes?”
“I…” Felicity was left speechless.
“Fine.” Jasmine let out a long, heavy sigh. “It seems my good intentions were a waste of time. If that’s how it is, I apologize to everyone. Do whatever you want.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, tears began to fall down Jasmine’s face.
“Jasmine,” Silas said, his heart suddenly tightening. “You…”
“Don’t,” Jasmine said, biting her lip. “Silas, I’ve been your wife for three years, and I’ve never regretted it. I truly wanted to make this marriage work, but it seems I was just delusional.”
She looked at him through her tears. “Since you all hate me so much, maybe we should just gét a divorce.
“Everyone would be much happier if I left the Vance family.”
Before Silas could respond, Jasmine turned and ran away, crying.
As she slammed her door, Silas’s roar echoed through the villa.
“Chloe! Get to the courtyard and kneel!”
Silas knocked on Jasmine’s door for a long time, but she didn’t open
He assumed she was just overwhelmed and hurt, and decided to give her some space to calm
down.
Felicity stood behind him, resentment flashing in her eyes.
That woman is harder to handle than I thought!
She keeps getting the upper hand!

That look used to belong only to her. He had never looked at that woman like that before!
Could it be…
Felicity felt a sudden wave of unease.
“Silas, come rest in my room for a bit. I’m sure Jasmine will come around soon.”
“Come around to what?” Silas snapped, feeling a sudden surge of irritability. “Come around to divorcing me?”
Felicity had never heard Silas speak to her with such impatience. Her eyes immediately welled with tears.
“I… I didn’t mean it like that…”
Seeing the tears in her eyes only made Silas feel more frustrated.
For some reason, seeing Felicity cry now didn’t hurt as much as it used to.
But seeing Jasmine cry… it felt like a knife to his heart.
What is wrong with me?
Still, Silas couldn’t bring himself to be cruel to Felicity. He tried his best to suppress his
temper.
“I’m sorry. My tone was a bit harsh.”
Felicity looked at him with watery eyes. “Silas, don’t apologize. It makes me feel like you’re drifting away from me.”
Silas cast one last look at the closed door.
“Let’s go. I’ll take you back to your room.”
Jasmine pressed her ear to the door until the footsteps faded, then she rushed to call Sierra.
After explaining everything, Sierra was laughing so hard she was in tears.

Chapter 18 The Morning Sickness Secret
“Jasmine, you should quit tech and become an actress! Seriously, your performance would destroy those Hollywood stars. You deserve an Oscar!”
Jasmine lay on the bed, swinging her legs. “I used to love Silas, so I was willing to give in for
his sake.
“But now, who even is he?
“So, why should I give in?”
“Exactly!” Sierra said. “That’s my girl. I love the ‘take it or leave it’ attitude!”
Sierra was silent for a few seconds.
“I really don’t know how you survived three years in that house.”
A wave of loneliness washed over Jasmine.
She didn’t even know how she’d made it.
She just knew she wanted to stay by the side of the man she loved, hoping that one day, he would love her back.
But it was all just a hollow dream.
A dream she should have woken up from long ago.
At lunchtime, Jasmine didn’t go out to eat.
