“What if he never gets over that woman, and over time, feelings start creeping back in? What would we do then?”
To be honest, Felicity had been worrying about the exact same thing.
Lately, she kept catching the scent of other women’s perfume on Silas-just faint traces, but enough to set her on edge.
That was why she’d asked his grandmother to sound him out.
Even though his answers had been reassuring, Felicity couldn’t shake the lingering unease deep down.
Was the perfume from her?
Felicity’s mind kept drifting back to what Jasmine had told her that day in the conference room.
“Watch you don’t end up like me-the second version.”
The more she replayed those words, the more uneasy she grew.
“Chloe, what if that woman tries to get back at me after the divorce? What if she seduces your brother just to take him away from me?”
Chloe nodded without hesitation.
“She absolutely would.”
Felicity’s expression darkened. She clenched her jaw, thinking it over for a long moment.
No.
She would never let that happen.
Silas was hers.
The title of Mrs. Vance would be hers, too.
No one was taking that away from her.
At Moonlight Terrace, Silas stood outside the apartment door for what felt like ages, hesitating to knock.
He wasn’t even sure how he’d ended up here-or why he’d suddenly become so cautious around that
woman.
Finally, he gathered his nerve and knocked.
No one answered, even after several tries.

A neighbor stepped out and kindly informed him, “You can stop knocking. The people who lived here moved out.”
Silas was taken aback.
“Moved? When?”
“Just a few days ago.”
“Do you know where they went?”
“How would I know?”
Silas stood there for a moment, stunned.
Moved out?
Where would she go?
Her family didn’t want her back, and this apartment was her only place. Where else could she possibly be?
Unless…
He immediately called Jasmine.
Meanwhile, Jasmine had just left the police station after trying to get more information about her mother’s accident.
When she saw Silas calling, she picked up without delay. Maybe going straight to the source was the quickest way to get answers.
“What is it?”
“You moved out?” Silas asked.
“Yes.”
There was a brief silence on his end.
“Where to?”
Jasmine didn’t want to provoke him, but she wasn’t about to tell him the truth, either. After a careful pause, she offered a plausible excuse.
“I’m staying with Sierra for now.”
Silas sounded somewhat relieved.
“I thought…”

Chapter 213 The Trap
“Thought what?” Jasmine pressed.
He didn’t answer.
“Thought I was living with Caleb?”
Silas’ silence was answer enough.
Jasmine forced a light laugh.
“Don’t worry. Even though we’re divorced now, I’m not looking to jump into anything new.”
Silas shifted topics.
“What’s this about your birth mother?”
“Your sister told you?”

“I’m truly sorry. Even though Chloe wasn’t responsible, she was in the car and had to watch it happen- helpless.”
Jasmine clenched her fists, suppressing the surge of anger inside.
“Can we talk in person?”
“Of course. Where are you? I’ll come pick you up.”
“No need. You’re at Moonlight Terrace, right? I’ll meet you there.”
Without the entry code, Silas returned to his car to wait.
Marcus had just finished a phone call.
“Mr. Vance, we finally have a solid lead on Storm, the person we’ve been searching for.”
Silas’ eyes sharpened. “Go on.”
“That pixel-art game Zenith Tech just acquired and released-the designer is Storm.”
Silas’ expression cooled.
“We reached out online multiple times before, trying to buy that game, and never heard back. So why sell to Zenith Tech? Does this person really think so little of Nexora Tech compared to some startup that just set up shop in Rivercrest?”
Marcus was equally puzzled.
“Maybe Storm has a personal connection to Mr. Brooks?”
