Chapter 218 The Divorce Finalized
“Are
“Yes.”
you going to court?”
“When?”
“The day after tomorrow.”
Sierra felt a flicker of concern.
“I can come with you.”
Jasmine shook her head. “It’s fine.”
“I just don’t want you to have to face that jerk again,” Sierra insisted. “It’ll only upset you.”
Jasmine stayed quiet.
Seeing him again would also mean seeing him for the last time.

At the entrance to the courthouse, Jasmine spotted Silas.
His hand was wrapped in a thick bandage.
She knew perfectly well the cut hadn’t been deep-dramatically bundling it up like that was completely over the top.
They entered the mediation room without a word.
Throughout the session, neither spoke.
The mediator went through the standard procedures, repeating the formalities and legal terms in a practiced tone.
Their responses were surprisingly aligned.
Neither raised any objections.
“If neither party disputes the terms,” the mediator concluded, “I’ll issue a mediation agreement. This document carries the same legal weight as a divorce decree-meaning your marriage will be dissolved as soon as it’s signed.”
That was exactly what Jasmine had been waiting for.
“Thank you for your help,” she said quietly.
The mediator stepped out briefly.

Silas fixed his cold gaze on Jasmine.
“Happy now?”
Jasmine didn’t bother to reply.
Even exchanging a single extra word with Silas felt draining.

“You think leaving me means freedom?” he went on, voice low. “Give it time. You’ll realize that without me. your life is going to be miserable.
“Jasmine. I’ll be waiting for you to come back.”
The mediator returned with the signed agreement.
Jasmine took it as though it were something precious, then turned to leave without another glance.
Silas caught up and grabbed her wrist.
Jasmine pulled her hand back sharply. “We’re divorced now, Mr. Vance. Have some dignity.”
“If you ever find yourself in trouble,” Silas said, not letting go of her eyes, “call me.”
Jasmine let out a short, cold laugh.
“Thanks, but I won’t need to.”
“You will. Don’t be so quick to decide.”
“Even if I did.” Jasmine shot back, giving him an icy stare, “I wouldn’t ask an enemy for help.”
Silas’ brow furrowed. “I’m not your enemy. What grudge are you holding against me?”
“You’re protecting a murderer,” Jasmine said flatly. “What else should I call that?”
I already told you-Chloe is not a killer.”
“Whether she is or not,” Jasmine replied, “you know the truth?
“Jasmine
“Silas,” she cut him off, her voice cold and final. “Don’t call me that It makes me sick It we ever run into each other again, you can call me Ms. Thorne Or..”
“Or what?”
Jasmine’s eyes darkened, and a chill seemed to radiate from deep with them
“Or Storm.”
Silas stood frozen for a long moment.

Chapter 218 The Divorce Finalized
What had she just said?
Storm?
Which Storm?
By the time he collected himself and thought to chase after her, Jasmine was already gone.
She pulled her car to a stop in front of Zenith Tech’s building.
Unbuckling her seatbelt, she drew the mediation certificate from her bag and studied it for a while.
She’d never imagined that a single sheet of paper would come only after walking such a long, difficult road.
If she’d known how things would turn out, would she have been so fixated on revenge back then?
If she’d divorced him sooner, maybe…
A wave of sadness washed over her.
The most useless word in the world was maybe.
Her phone showed dozens of missed calls.
All from Silas.
No doubt he was calling to ask about that Storm remark.
Jasmine didn’t pick up.
Let him wonder.
Outside, the sky was clear and bright.
It was a beautiful day.
Jasmine opened the car door and stepped out, looking up as she took a deep breath
The crisp, cold air almost made her cough.
So winter had arrived already….
The security guard at the entrance recognized her.
“Ms. Thorne.”
Jasmine offered a small smile. “I’m surprised you remember me.”
“Of course,” he replied warmly. “You’re the first person Mr. Brooks ever came down personally to greet.”
“I tried calling him,” Jasmine said, “but he didn’t answer.”
