Jasmine froze for a long time. It felt surreal, like she was lost in a fog.

“Is it enough?” Ethan asked. “If not, I can pay you the maintenance and update fees in advance as well.”

Jasmine found her voice. “It’s enough. Mr. Cross… thank you.”

“I do expect something in return, though,” he said.
