Who knew if that woman was scheming again, trying to reel her grandson in.

“Chloe,” Silas said abruptly. “Your flight is booked. Start packing. You’re going overseas next week.”

Chloe had assumed Silas’ earlier threat about sending her abroad was just heat-of-the-moment anger. She/ hadn’t taken it seriously at all.

Turns out he meant every word.

So she rushed straight to Madeline for backup.

“Grandma, I really don’t want to go abroad…”

Madeline opened her mouth to reply, but Silas cut in first.

“That hit-and-run case could still blow up on us. It’s safer if Chloe lays low overseas for a while. She can come home once this whole mess is completely behind us.

“It’s the best move for Chloe-and for the family.”

Madeline considered it for a moment.

“Alright, Chloe. Go stay there for a bit. Think of it as an extended vacation to clear your head.”

Chloe was far from pleased.

Since even her grandmother wouldn’t stand up for her, she had no choice but to turn to her last resort.

That person, of course, was Felicity.

Before Madeline left, she gave Silas a direct order.

“Go bring Felicity home. Now.”

The commanding tone grated on him, but he had no choice except to comply.

Felicity had taken the child to her parents’ house that day.

When Silas arrived at Sterling Villa, the housekeeper beamed and hurried off to inform Theodore.

They clearly viewed Silas as part of the family already.

Theodore had been deep in conversation with Felicity about something, but the moment Silas walked in, they fell silent.

Felicity hurried over.

“Silas, you’re here.”

Silas gave a curt nod. “Yeah.”

Theodore noticed his less-than-enthusiastic demeanor and felt a flicker of irritation, though he kept it off his face.

“Silas, perfect timing. I was just talking about you with Felicity.”

Silas pulled himself together. “Mr. Sterling.”

Theodore chuckled. “You won’t be calling me ‘Mr. Sterling’ for much longer. Better start practicing.

“I’ve spoken with your grandmother. We agreed there’s no need for a long engagement-you and Felicity should move straight to the wedding.”

Silas was taken aback.

“Doesn’t that feel a bit rushed? Maybe we should slow things down.”

Getting married-he had a hundred reasons not to.

But he was trapped.

Theodore waved a hand. “I’d prefer to take it slow too, but my daughter here is dreaming of walking down the aisle with you.”

Felicity played coy. “Dad, stop it… I never said that…”

Theodore laughed heartily. “Getting shy now? Weren’t you just worrying that Silas might change his mind?”

Then he turned to Silas, his tone turning serious.

“Silas, I want the truth from you today. Do you genuinely want to marry my daughter?”

Silas forced a smile. “Yes, I do.”

Theodore looked satisfied.

“I’ve always known you cared for Felicity. Well, good. The two of you finally get your happy ending. Once you’re married, you can try for another child-give Leo a little brother or sister.”

Silas stayed quiet.

Marrying her wouldn’t be the worst outcome.

At least his grandmother would keep her word.

“Oh, and Silas,” Theodore added, “I mentioned this to Felicity earlier. For your wedding, I plan to give you a significant gift.

“I’m transferring a portion of my shares in Sterling Group to your name.”

Chapter 233 Wedding Plans

Silas could hardly believe it.

This was Theodore, who watched every dollar more closely than anyone. Could he really be that generous?

“Felicity is my only child. When I’m too old to run the family business, it’ll all go to her.

“But Felicity’s been sheltered her whole life. She doesn’t have a head for management. In the end, it’ll fall on your shoulders.

“So, Silas, you won’t let me down, will you?”

This time, Silas answered faster than ever.

“Mr. Sterling, you have my word. We’ll be family soon. I’ll shoulder whatever responsibilities come my way.”

Theodore gave his shoulder a firm pat.

“Good. Then I’ll sit down with your grandmother and work out the wedding details. But first, we need to handle the publicity around your divorce.”

After leaving Sterling Villa, Silas slid into the car feeling distracted.

Marcus started the engine, glanced at his expression, and wisely stayed silent.

But Felicity snuggled close and said sweetly, “Silas, I’m so happy. Just thinking about us becoming husband and wife makes me so excited I can barely sleep. It feels like a dream.”

Silas let out a quiet sigh.

It did feel like a dream.

Not exactly a pleasant one, for him.

Maybe, at the very beginning, Silas had truly been fond of Felicity.
