Chapter 234 Jealousy
Chapter 234 Jealousy
Felicity snuggled closer into him, utterly content. “So, like I was saying… shouldn’t we go pick our a wedding dress?”
Silas had surrendered completely. “Sure. I’ll go with you when the time comes.”
“Perfect.” Felicity pressed a kiss to his cheek. “You better mean that.”
“But it’ll have to wait until after the expo,” Silas added. “The next few days are packed. I won’t have a
moment.”
“Okay, fine. That works for me,” Felicity replied.
The car pulled up at Kingsley Bay.
Silas let Felicity out first. “Go on inside. I’m gonna have a smoke out here.”
Once, he’d lit up in front of Felicity, and when Madeline found out, she’d chewed him out. Ever since, Silas had to sneak around just to enjoy a cigarette. It was beyond annoying.
Felicity hopped out of the car, practically floating on air.
Marcus watched Silas’ expression and finally understood what people meant when they said one man’s joy was another man’s misery. He’d been about to offer congratulations, but it suddenly felt unnecessary. So, he changed the subject.
“Mr. Vance, about Ms. Monroe’s flower shop-we found a prime location, but the asking price is pretty steep. What do you think we should…”
Silas took a long drag from his cigarette, leaned back into the seat, and let out a cloud of smoke, his mood visibly dark. “What, you think I’m broke?”
Marcus chose his words carefully. “Not at all. I was just wondering if we should wait a few more days and scout out some other options.”
“Forget it. Lock that one down. Take me to see it tomorrow.”
“Yes, sir.”
Silas finished two cigarettes in the car, then glanced toward the villa’s front door. A heavy, indescribable 1 feeling settled over him. He pushed the car door open as if to get out, then changed his mind and shut it
again.
“Take me to Eclipse.”
Marcus was caught off guard. “Right now? Won’t Ms. Sterling come looking for you?”
“Just come up with an excuse. And you-you know what to say and when to say it.”
“Understood, Mr. Vance.”

Chapter 234 Jealousy
Sure enough, not long after Marcus dropped Silas off at Eclipse, his phone rang. It was Felicity.

As Silas’ personal assistant, Marcus was accustomed to her calls, so Felicity generally checked her bossy tone and spoke to him politely.
“Marcus, where’s Silas? I’ve been calling him, but he’s not picking up. Where did you two go?”
Marcus glanced up at Eclipse’s glowing neon sign and almost smirked. Silas was off doing his own thing, of course he wouldn’t answer. Keeping Silas’ warning in mind, Marcus had his cover story ready.
“Ms. Sterling, there’s been an issue with the expo robot. I brought Mr. Vance to the office he’s in with he tech team right now, trying to sort it out.”
“Oh,” Felicity replied. Then she added, “You’ll have to change how you address me from now on.”
Marcus rubbed his nose, fighting back a laugh. “Yes, Mrs. Vance.”
Felicity hung up, a smile plastered on her face that she couldn’t wipe off.
Chloe sidled up to her. “So, from now on, you are the real Mrs. Vance?”
Felicity grinned, a little shy.
Seeing her in such high spirits, Chloe knew it was a good time to ask for a favor. “Felicity, can I ask you for a little help?”
That evening’s dinner reservation was at Eclipse.
The owner was an old friend of Ethan’s, so he’d set aside the largest private room for them and even threw in two bottles of red wine.
Romanée-Conti.
More than two hundred grand a bottle.
Plus two premium fruit platters.
The generosity was almost jaw-dropping.
Sierra turned to Ethan. “Mr. Brooks, your friend doesn’t mess around. Just casually drops what, four hundred or five hundred grand?”
Ethan chuckled. “He’s always been the generous type.”
Caleb clicked his tongue. “How come he’s never that generous with me? Last time I brought friends here, forget wine-he didn’t even offer a fruit plate!”
Ethan raised an eyebrow, amused. “You know exactly why he doesn’t hook you up.”

Chapter 234 Jealousy
Caleb decided to keep his mouth shut.
But Sierra wasn’t letting him off that easy. “Why? Come on, spill it.”
Caleb shot her a look. “Spill what? Why are you so nosy? Curiosity killed the cat, you know.”
