Chapter 242 A Simple Wedding
Jasmine shot him a disapproving look. “You’re just seizing the moment. Not a chance.”
Caleb draped himself over Ethan’s shoulder, putting on an exaggerated whine.
“Ethan, look at this! Your associate is picking on me. You’ve gotta back me up here.”
Ethan frowned, clear disgust on his face, and muttered, “Go die somewhere else.”
Jasmine couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
It was rare to see Ethan like this-so genuine, so at ease.

Felicity had been ready to bolt from Eclipse as quickly as possible.
If Silas found out she’d come here to check up on him, he’d be furious.
But just as she turned to leave, Silas was right there behind her-and he looked livid.
“You followed me?”
Felicity bit her lip, momentarily lost for words.
She’d come to Eclipse because a friend of hers who hung out here mentioned seeing Silas with a stunning woman, looking awfully close.
The friend had even sent a photo.
Too bad it only showed the woman from behind, and it was too blurry to make out clearly.
Still, from her figure, it looked a lot like Jasmine.
Felicity had rushed over immediately.
She wanted to see for herself whether it was that homewrecker Jasmine trying to seduce Silas, or just some gold-digger from the club looking to marry into money.
But now, she deeply regretted it.
She knew exactly what Silas hated most.
Unable to meet the anger in his eyes, Felicity spoke carefully, “Silas, let me explain…”
Silas’ tight lips slowly relaxed.
“Felicity, you’ve really let me down.”
He turned to walk away.

Panicked, Felicity wrapped her arms around him from behind, tears already falling.
“I’m sorry, Silas. I didn’t mean to do this. I was just so scared…

“My friend said she saw you here with another woman, looking really close… and you haven’t been home in two days. I couldn’t even reach you. I felt so insecure, so I..”
Silas pulled her hands away and turned to face her.
Any warmth in his eyes was gone, replaced by cold disdain.
“That woman my friend saw?” he said evenly. “She’s a client. I brought her here to unwind at the top entertainment spot in Rivercrest.”
Felicity wasn’t entirely convinced.
Silas reached for his phone.
“If you don’t believe me, I’ll call her right now and let her explain it to you herself.”
Felicity nearly said yes.
But Silas added coolly, “Just think carefully about how you’ll handle the fallout if you end up pissing off a key client of mine.”
Felicity instantly dropped the idea.
She clung to him again.
“Silas, I believe you.”
Silas kept his arms at his sides, making no move to hold her.
“Felicity, have I ever told you what I hate the most?”
Felicity hesitated, then whispered, “You hate people interfering in your business.”
“Good, you remember,” Silas replied flatly.
“But…” Felicity looked up at him, eyes pleading. “I’m not just ‘people. I’m going to be your wife. Isn’t it normal for a wife to care about her husband?”
Silas paused.
He’d spent the last two days with Vivienne and had actually forgotten about his upcoming wedding.
Suddenly, his mind drifted back to the three years he’d spent with Jasmine.
Back then, no matter what he did. Jasmine never interfered. At most, she’d offer a caring word. She gave him all the space he wanted, let him live exactly as he pleased.
