After ordering a quick breakfast delivery and finishing her meal, she drove out to a nearby supermarket.

She spent some time wandering the aisles and walked out with three massive bags of groceries-fully stocking up on food, toiletries, and everyday essentials. She even bought a large bouquet of fresh flowers. Her plan was to sign the contract with Ethan later today, and then spend the next few days completely offline, enjoying some peace and quiet in her new apartment while brainstorming the operating system development.

Jasmine loaded everything into the trunk. Just as she started the car, a text from Ethan flashed on her screen, suggesting they meet at the same café where they had first crossed paths. It was close by, and she still had plenty of time, so she headed back home first to touch up the apartment.

When she lived with the Vances, every corner of the house had been decorated to suit Silas’s tastes; Jasmine never had a say in any of it. Now, things were different. It was her place, and she called the shots. She trimmed the flowers, arranged them in a vase, and set them on the coffee table. The vibrant petals instantly brightened up the room and lifted her spirits.

Once she was finished, Jasmine tried calling Margaret again, but the call failed to go through. She had been trying to reach Margaret for the past two days, but unfortunately, she didn’t have any contact information beyond this single phone number. Jasmine felt a pang of regret.

If only she had taken the time to learn more about Margaret back then, she wouldn’t be left completely in the dark now. trying to find someone who seemed to have vanished into thin air.

Jasmine arrived at the café right on time. Zack was in the private room alongside Ethan, and he stood up politely the moment she walked in.

“Hello, Ms. Thorne. I’m Mr. Brooks’s assistant, Zack.”

Jasmine nodded with a warm smile. “Nice to meet you.”

Ethan sat composedly at the coffee table, wearing a soft, off-white sweater. His refined features bore a serene, detached expression, making him look like an elegant gentleman completely removed from the chaos of the world. For some reason, Jasmine felt a profound sense of reassurance every time she saw him. He truly embodied the classic ideal of a flawless, peerless gentleman.

Skipping any unnecessary small talk, Zack went straight to business and pulled out the paperwork-a no- nonsense, efficient approach that mirrored Ethan’s own style perfectly.

“Here is the contract, Ms. Thorne. Please take a look.”

Jasmine pulled a pen from her bag. “No need.” With a swift stroke of her hand, she signed her name on the dotted line.

Zack looked at her in surprise. “Ms. Thorne, this is a major financial agreement. You’re not even going to review it?”

Jasmine offered a casual smile. “Your boss already transferred the full amount to me in advance. Why wouldn’t I trust you guys?”

Zack blinked, visibly confused. “Wait, what?”

Jasmine glanced at Ethan. “Did I say something I shouldn’t have?”

Ethan gave a faint smile. “It’s fine. Zack is one of us.”

Jasmine relaxed. Zack, however, looked entirely left out. “Mr. Brooks, are you keeping secrets from me?”

“Drink your coffee,” Ethan replied smoothly.

“Right,” Zack muttered.

Ethan slid a folder across the table. “This is a brief I put together regarding the future development and market positioning of large AI models across six major industry trends. Take a look and let me know if anything needs editing or expanding.”

He then handed her a flash drive. “And here is my comprehensive analysis on developing the new operating system. It covers the project background, goals, expected outcomes, and potential challenges, along with a full feasibility and risk assessment. Please check if I missed anything there, too.”

Jasmine took them with a soft laugh. “You’re much more capable than I am. Do you really need my input?”

“No one is perfect,” Ethan said in all seriousness. “You might catch the blind spots I missed.”

Jasmine couldn’t help but admire him.

A man this talented yet remarkably humble was truly a rare find.

“Alright,” she promised. “I’ll review everything as soon as I get home.”

“Feel free to reach out anytime,” Ethan added. “If I’m in a meeting and miss your call or message, I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.”

“Will do.”

As soon as the words left her mouth, Jasmine couldn’t resist opening the folder. To her surprise, the notes were handwritten. His handwriting mirrored his character-elegant, bold, and full of sharp refinement. Because the content tapped directly into her field and personal interests, she immediately lost herself in the pages, completely forgetting that two people were still sitting right across from her.

Watching her immerse herself so deeply in the paperwork, Zack couldn’t help but stare for a moment. The scene before him looked like a painting. A striking, elegant woman completely absorbed in her own world, focused and serene, as if nothing on earth could break her concentration.
