Ethan’s brow furrowed slightly.

Jasmine, however, merely curled her lips into a smile and extended her hand. “Let’s reintroduce ourselves.”

Ethan looked at her fair hand, caught entirely off guard.

“I’m Jasmine,” she said. “I also happened to be the deputy leader of the K-Alliance. My handle was ‘Storm”

The tension in Ethan’s brow slowly melted away. He reached out and gently took her hand in his.

“Ethan,” he replied. “Former leader of the K-Alliance. Handle, ‘King””

The two shared a knowing smile, looking for all the world like old friends finally reunited.

Zack’s jaw hung open for what felt like an eternity.

“You… you’re Storm?”

Jasmine tilted her head, a playful smile on her face. “What, I don’t look the part?”

Zack shook his head blankly. “Not at all.”

“And why is that?”

“You’re just completely different from what I imagined,” Zack said, his face a picture of utter disbelief. “In my head, the real Storm was this legendary rogue hero, traveling the world with a sword in hand.”

Jasmine couldn’t help but laugh. “A woman can’t be a legendary rogue hero?”

“No, it’s just… I always assumed Storm was a guy! How could you be a woman? Wait, this can’t be right. I must be dreaming. Oh my god, Ms. Thorne is Storm? How is she, Storm? The hero I’ve idolized for years is actually her!” Zack started pacing the room, muttering frantically to himself.

Jasmine turned to Ethan, highly amused. “Well, your assistant seems to be having a complete breakdown. He’s speaking in tongues. But…” Her long eyelashes fluttered as she gave him a sharp, knowing look. “You don’t seem surprised at all.”

Ethan gave her a smooth, elegant smile. “Maybe I’m just better at keeping my composure.”

On the drive back, Zack was quieter than he had ever been. He managed to hold it in for a while, but eventually, he just couldn’t contain himself any longer.

“I still don’t get it! How can Ms. Thorne be Storm?”

The corner of Ethan’s mouth ticked upward. “Why shouldn’t she be?”

Zack pondered it for a long moment. “Actually, yeah, why shouldn’t she? Ms. Thorne is brilliant. She literally developed a game with massive market potential all on her own. It actually makes total sense that

she’s Storm.”

“Then what are you still obsessing over?” Ethan asked.

Suddenly, a realization struck Zack. “Wait a minute, Mr. Brooks. How were you so calm when she revealed she was Storm?”

Ethan turned his gaze out the window.

The passing scenery along the road was unfamiliar, yet it carried a strange sense of nostalgia. No one kne that he had visited Rivercrest all those years ago. Once he finally traced the identity of the person behind the handle “Storm,” he had traveled to the city just to catch a glimpse of her.

She had porcelain skin and flawless, delicate features, with eyes as clear and bright as a pristine lake, shining with an intellect that far exceeded anyone her age. Even he had been taken aback. It was hard to believe that such a soft, beautiful girl was the same “Storm” who ruthlessly conquered the digital world. Sensing the prolonged silence from the backseat, Zack felt something was off. “Mr. Brooks? Are you…” Ethan pulled himself out of the memory, a spark returning to his deep eyes.

“Because I already knew she was Storm ten years ago.”

Back then, Jasmine was only eighteen.

Silas woke up with a pounding headache that felt like his skull was about to split open.

He had drunk far too much with Theodore the previous night, to the point where he couldn’t even remember how he’d made it back to his room.

His room?

Silas looked around. Lace-trimmed blankets, pink curtains, and an antique, elaborately carved pink bed- the entire space was suffocatingly princess-like.

This was Felicity’s room.

It hadn’t always looked like this. After Felicity moved in, she had the whole place redecorated, even replacing the bed because she couldn’t stand the thought of sleeping where Jasmine once had. Silas. feeling guilty and sympathetic over how difficult childbirth had been for her, had given in to her every whim.

But right now, for some reason, he found himself missing the way the room used to look-simple, yet warm and inviting.
