Ignoring him, Jasmine looked coldly at the stunned woman in front of her. “What’s the matter? Getting cold feet already?”
Felicity bit her lip. “If I kneel and apologize, will we finally put all of this behind us today?”
Jasmine’s gaze swept over Madeline and Victoria. “Whether it’s behind us depends on Grandma and Victoria. What if they still insist I’m the one who hurt Chloe?”
Victoria looked ready to explode.
Jasmine was absolutely detestable. She needed to find a way to kick this woman out of the Vance family as soon as possible.
“We won’t wrongfully accuse anyone before getting to the bottom of this,” Madeline said coldly.
Jasmine scoffed inwardly.
Madeline certainly knew how to save face. She loved playing both sides.
Before the words had even fully left Madeline’s mouth, Felicity dropped to her knees with a heavy thud.
Watching this, a dark, murderous hatred flashed in Madeline’s eyes. Victoria stepped forward to help Felicity up, but Madeline held her back.
They would settle this score with Jasmine sooner or later.
Though Felicity was on her knees, the actual apology stuck in her throat. She had stepped forward on purpose, purely to show the entire Vance family how sensible and compliant she was compared to Jasmine. By contrasting herself with Jasmine’s arrogant, overbearing behavior, she hoped to make them hate Jasmine even more.
After all, Jasmine had the audacity to snatch away the necklace Silas had bought for her. It was infuriating.
But Felicity hadn’t anticipated that Jasmine would actually make her kneel. It was a humiliating insult. Still, to get what she wanted, she was willing to go all the way.
It was just the apology that she couldn’t bring herself to say.
Jasmine looked down at the kneeling woman with a faint, mocking smile, making no effort to hide her sheer amusement. She wanted to see exactly how far Felicity was willing to take this performance.
“What are you waiting for?” Jasmine asked. “You’re already halfway through the show. It’d be a shame to give up now.”
Felicity dug her fingernails deep into her palms as her shoulders began to tremble. A single tear splashed onto the floor.
That tear was the final straw, completely driving a wedge between Jasmine and the other two women. Madeline and Victoria looked at Felicity with pure heartbreak. Yet, they knew that if Felicity didn’t

apologize, Jasmine wouldn’t let this go. They had no choice but to swallow their pity and watch.
Felicity looked up, her tear-filled eyes locking onto Silas.

That single, desperate look broke him. He grabbed Felicity by the arm, yanked her up from the floor, and glared furiously at Jasmine.
“Jasmine! That’s enough! Don’t push me!”
Jasmine met his sharp glare without flinching. “Who’s pushing who?”
In his blind rage, Silas let the harsh words fly.
“If you want to keep your place in the Vance family, you’d better learn some restraint. Otherwise, pack your bags and get the hell out!”
Victoria and Madeline exchanged glances, secretly thrilled.
It looked like they had been worrying over nothing. How could Silas ever actually care about a low-class woman like her?
Felicity was quietly ecstatic. She had genuinely feared that Silas’s feelings for her had faded, or that he had stopped loving her altogether. As it turned out, it really was just her overthinking things. Silas still loved her; he still cared.
Before dropping to her knees earlier, Felicity had been calculating her risks. She had been watching his every move, waiting to see if he could actually bear to witness her humiliate herself. When she finally hit the floor, and Silas didn’t step in to stop it, her heart had filled with resentment and despair.
But now, all of that evaporated.
Jasmine was the only pathetic one left here. Her own husband was defending his mistress right to her face, while the rest of the Vance family stood by, laughing at her expense.
Jasmine’s breath hitched slightly, but she managed a cold laugh. “So, you want a divorce?”
Her eyes locked onto Silas, piercing right through him. “For her?”
Suddenly unable to meet her gaze, Silas looked away, his eyes darting around. Still, his anger hadn’t | simmered down.
“I am warning you to know your limits!” Silas snapped. “Stop treating the Vance home like a place where you can throw your tantrums!”
Jasmine took a deep breath, forcing her emotions back under control. A faint, bittersweet smile touched her lips.
“Don’t regret this, Silas.”
With that, she turned on her heel and walked out, quickly vanishing into the night.
