“The photos of us outside the hotel that day,” Silas continued. “Did you hire someone to take them?”

Jasmine wiped the remaining tears from her cheeks and let out a heavy, weary breath. “Felicity hired someone to take those photos, and then she mailed them to me.” She turned her head, looking at him with utter desolation. “Do you believe me?”

Silas frowned. “Why would Felicity do that? She has absolutely nothing to gain from it.”

Jasmine let out a bitter laugh. “Nothing to gain? She gains by getting rid of me so she can take my place.

“Jasmine.” Silas sighed, a tone of sheer exhaustion in his voice. “Felicity has never wanted to push you out let alone replace you. She is incredibly naive and simple. If she feels something or wants something, she just says it. She doesn’t play games.”

What else could she do but laugh bitterly? Jasmine lowered her gaze, fighting to hide her profound sorrow.

Oh, Jasmine. How pathetic that just moments ago, she had actually fantasized about them being a normal, supportive married couple. What a joke.

“Jasmine, I swear to you,” Silas pressed on, “ever since Felicity successfully got pregnant, I haven’t slept with her. Not once.”

Jasmine closed her eyes, entirely unwilling to speak.

Silas kept pushing, desperately trying to justify his actions. “Julian was my favorite brother. It was only out of love for him that I agreed to help Felicity. But it was strictly to carry on his legacy. I never emotionally cheated on you. I-”

His favorite brother?

Jasmine scoffed internally. She didn’t even want to humiliate him by calling him out.

The only person Silas truly loved was himself. As for his brother, there was probably far more jealousy there than love. And “out of love for him”?

Even now, he was still lying through his teeth. Felicity was clearly the love of his life. How did he have the nerve to claim he hadn’t emotionally cheated? His heart had been unfaithful for years. If Felicity hadn’t been in love with his brother Julian back then, Silas would have found a way to marry her himself.

“Silas…”

Exhausted to her very core, Jasmine opened her mouth to speak, but ultimately swallowed her words. She couldn’t expose his lies right now. It wouldn’t do her any good.

When she didn’t finish her sentence, Silas grew impatient. “What were you going to say?”

Masking her true emotions, Jasmine said numbly, “I was going to say… It’s in the past.”

Chapter 95 She Mailed Them to Me

Silas looked mildly surprised. “Does that mean you forgive me?”

Jasinine felt entirely dead inside. “Yes. I forgive you.”

Silas patted her head affectionately, as if rewarding a child. “I knew my wife was the reasonable one.”

Jasmine wanted nothing more than to chop off his hand, rip off his mask, and see just how thick his skin really was.

“Jasmine, can you promise me one thing?” Silas asked.

Swallowing her immense disgust, Jasmine said, “What is it?”

“Try to get along with Felicity from now on, okay?”

Jasmine stared blankly ahead.

He wanted his cake and to eat it too? To keep a wife at home while enjoying his mistress? The sheer greed and shamelessness of it were staggering.

Whether it was her own morning sickness or just Silas’s words making her blood boil, a wave of nausea washed over Jasmine.

Unaware of her discomfort, Silas kept rambling on. “Felicity has had it really rough. Julian is gone, leaving her all alone. If it weren’t for the baby, I’d honestly worry she might do something drastic. So, could you just…

Jasmine suddenly gasped, clapping a hand over her mouth as she dry-heaved.

Silas froze, staring at her for a long moment. He had seen Felicity react exactly like this before. It looked just like morning sickness.

Could she be pregnant? But they hadn’t slept together in months…

As the nausea finally subsided, Jasmine realized her reaction had triggered his suspicion. When Felicity was pregnant, Silas had practically taken care of her every need. He knew exactly what she craved, what smells she couldn’t stand, and what symptoms she suffered from. It was only natural that Jasmine’s sudden dry-heaving would set off alarm bells.

“Are you…” Silas started.
