I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 11

Chapter 11 Punishment

“What?” Sandra exclaimed, her face full of shock. She hurried to examine Keith closely.

There were no bruises from pinching, but scrapes marred his elbows and knees. His knees had even split open, a faint trickle of blood seeping through.

“You cruel, heartless woman!” Sandra’s hand trembled as she pointed accusingly at Thalia, her eyes blazing with rage.

“He’s just a child! How could you do this to him? Get outside and kneel! Don’t you dare stand up until you admit your mistake! How did Darion end up with such a cold-blooded wife?”

Thalia’s brows furrowed, her gaze flicking to Keith in confusion. “I pinched you? Are you serious?”

Keith cowered in Sandra’s arms, his eyes wide with feigned fear, as if Thalia were some kind of monster.

A cold, bitter chuckle echoed in Thalia’s mind. ‘Hmph. I went out of my way to help this ungrateful kid. Kindness really does get you nowhere.’

Her face turned icy. She said bluntly, “I didn’t pinch him. He was alone in a bar, looking for his mom. Miya neglects her own child, yet you’re not angry with her. Why are you all picking on me instead?”

Sandra let out a cold snort. “That’s separate matters. You’re getting punished today. You dared to touch a child? That’s unforgivable!”

No sooner had Sandra finished speaking than two stocky maids strode over, seized Thalia, and hauled her outside. They pressed her roughly to her knees on the cobblestone path.

“Let me go!” Thalia struggled, her voice sharp with anger, but she stood no chance against the two maids, who held her down tightly, not letting her move an inch.

Thalia’s eyes burned with rage, her lips quivering, unable to utter a single word.

‘I only tried to help, and this is what I get for saving an ungrateful brat? Karma really hits fast, doesn’t it?’ she thought bitterly.

She’d always suspected Miya was pulling the strings, making Keith play the victim to win the Blackburn family’ s sympathy.

But she never imagined a three-year-old could already be so good at lying.

Her heart ached with deep disappointment and sharp pain.

Once, she’d truly cared for Keith, putting her conflict with Miya aside. For Darion’s sake, and out of respect for Emely, she’d bought Keith toys and clothes, held him in her arms time and time again.

In the end, every bit of her kindness had been wasted on a selfish little ingrate.

The autumn night was bitterly cold. As darkness fell, frost coated every surface, the chill seeping into her

bones.

Thalia was still held in place, forced to kneel until her knees lost all feeling.

She’d lost all sense of time when bright headlights cut through the darkness at the entrance.

The sound of hurried footsteps reached her ears. Thalia-lifted her head instinctively, her long lashes trembling sharply.

‘Darion’s back!’ Her heart jolted.

That morning, he’d announced he would be gone on a business trip for several days. But he’d shown up unexpectedly, in the dead of night.

“Darion!” Thalia called out, her body shivering with cold and fear.

Darion was striding forward when he heard her call. He turned, and the instant he laid eyes on her kneeling helplessly on the ground, his brows tightened into a thunderous frown.

Jadiel hurried over and said, “Mr. Darion, Madam Blackburn’s been waiting for you. Mr. Keith’s pretty banged

up, and he claims Mrs. Thalia Blackburn did it. Please come and see.”

Darion stood bathed in bright light, his gaze sweeping down to Thalia, who watched him from the shadows.

He averted his eyes coldly, then strode into the villa without sparing her another glance.
