I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 123

Chapter 123

Chapter 123

Wendy said. “We won’t know unless we try.”

Thalia agreed quietly. “Okay.”

Wendy continued, “Oh, and remember how you told me about your grandmother’s sapphire earrings? The ones that went missing years ago during all that unrest?

Tve been keeping an eye on the major auction houses, and I just spotted a pair that looks like a match. I’ll send you the photos so you can check.”

Thalia’s eyes lit up the moment she heard this. “Yes, send them to me right now.”

The instant she saw the photos, she knew. It was the same pair.

After Miya had been brought into the Coleman family, Thalia spent more and more time at her grandmother, Diana’s, house. Diana would hold her close, tell her stories, and show her the antiques she had collected over a lifetime.

Every time Diana came across the photo of those earrings, she would let out a quiet sigh.

They had been a token of love from her grandfather, Mason Mcgee.

But the earrings had been lost, and Diana had spent years searching for them without any luck. It remained one of her deepest regrets.

Thalia quickly messaged Wendy back. “That’s the one. Which auction house has it? When’s the sale?”

Wendy replied, “I’ll send you all the details.”

Thalia said. “Thanks.”

She carefully reviewed the auction information. The sale was in three days, and the timing couldn’t have been better.

The money from the wedding ring had just come through, and combined with what she had gotten from Trenton and Darion, she would have more than enough to bid on the earrings.

After work, she tidied up and headed out, calling Matthew on the way.

Thalia and Matthew sat across from each other at a restaurant. Matthew looked at her with genuine surprise. “I thought you decided to hold off on the divorce for now?”

Thalia shook her head. “Things changed again. I figured filing a lawsuit is the only thing that actually works at this point. Do you have time to take the case? If not, I’ll figure something else out.”

Matthew smiled. “I’ve got time. I’ll get the paperwork filed, and I’ll keep you posted.”

Thalia gave him a grateful smile. Thank you, Matthew.”

Matthew waved it off. “Come on, we’re friends. I don’t wanna see you trapped in a marriage that’s sucking the life out of you.”

Thalia let out a small laugh. “That’s a terrifying way to put it.”

Matthew looked at her with a serious expression. “Love should make you thrive. And you’re wilting.”

Chapter 124

Thalia reached up and touched her face, then pulled out a compact mirror to check her reflection.

Matthew couldn’t help but chuckle. “I’m talking about your spirit, Thalia. The light in your eyes. Not your skin”

Thalia snapped the mirror shut and grinned. “Well, in that case, I’m still gorgeous.”

Matthew just stared at her, completely speechless.

Night had settled over the city, and the streets buzzed with a steady stream of traffic.

Darion was driving past the restaurant when he rounded the corner and caught sight of Matthew and Thalia seated by the window. His expression darkened instantly.

His gaze dropped to the red velvet box resting on the center console, and a cold edge crept into his eyes.

He pulled the car over nearby and walked straight into the restaurant.

What he hadn’t expected was to find Miya there as well.
