Chapter 13 Thalia Blocks Darion
“What? Are you seriously going to hit me for this bitch and her bastard?” Thalia asked. Her heart ached at his icy demeanor, a sharp pain twisting her chest.
Last night’s softness felt like a distant illusion, shattered completely.
“You damn brat! How could you speak of Emely’s child like that? He’s Emely’s only child! What did Darion do to get stuck with such a cruel wife?” Sandra raged beside them, every word filled with contempt for Thalia.
Darion’s sharp eyes pinned her down, which were dark and cold, like the depths of night. He said, “I spoiled you too much before, and look at you now.
“From today on, your card’s frozen. It won’t be unfrozen until you own up to what you did.”
With that, he lifted Keith into his arms and walked inside, never looking back.
Miya quickly stepped in, “Darion, please don’t do this. It’s our fault, not Lia’s. This will break her heart.”
Darion’s reply was cold and unyielding. “She needs to learn her lesson the hard way.”
Miya opened her mouth, trying to protest, but Sandra cut her off. “That’s enough. Darion’s decision is final. There’s no use arguing. Keep an eye on Keith. That’s what matters most.”
Everyone in the living room sat back down.
A few careless remarks, and Thalia was suddenly the one to blame for everything.
Thalia’s gaze fixed on Darion, unwavering.
He kept his attention on Keith in his arms, not glancing at her even once.
His profile was still as striking as ever, but it was now cloaked in an icy coldness that chilled her to the core.
Ever since they’d been together, he’d showered her with tenderness, surprised her with little gestures, and vowed to love her forever.
For eight years, she’d been immersed in that happiness, too stubborn to let go..
But when he withdrew all his warmth and affection, she finally felt the full weight of true heartbreak.
Thalia’s voice rang out, calm yet resolute: “Now that you’re back, shouldn’t we settle what we left undone?” Thalia thought, ‘Since he doesn’t love me anymore, let’s split up. Who says we can’t live without each other?
‘No one else gets to stain my love.’
Darion didn’t react at all. He spoke in an icy, unfeeling tone, “Go home. Or I can have someone take you.”
‘He’s threatening me, Thalia thought. She closed her eyes briefly, her heart sinking.
She turned around and walked out of Blackburn Manor, holding her head high.
The scrape on her knee still hurt, but the pain was nothing next to the ache in her heart.
Darion’s phone rang repeatedly, so he put Keith down and went to answer it. “What is it?”
“Darion, did you check Thalia’s Instagram? Dude, are you-seriously hooking up with Miya? You actually chose her? No way. She’s nothing compared to Thalia!” Jason Campbell, Darion’s friend, blurted out, his voice full of shock and disbelief.
Darion’s brows furrowed tightly. “What nonsense are you talking about?”
He pulled out his phone, opened Thalia’s Instagram, and froze. He saw nothing on her page,
He frowned harder, a sense of confusion washing over him. ‘What’s going on?’ he wondered.
He refreshed the page over and over, but the screen remained empty, the post Jason mentioned nowhere to be found.
“I don’t see any post from her,” he replied.
