Thalia’s eyes flickered with wariness. Did he come here just to corner me she thought. Is he going to try and take the earrings back for Miya?
Her body tensed up, and she started walking toward the exit.
She wanted to ignore him completely
But the hallway was narrow, and he was tall enough that just stretching his legs out blocked her path entirely.
She glared at him. “What do you want? Shouldn’t you be having dinner with your second wife?
Darion frowned, and his sharp features settled into a flat, unreadable expression. “Saying things like that doesn’t make you feel better either. So why bother?”
“Am I wrong?” Thalia’s voice dripped with sarcasm. “What are you doing here?”
Darion’s eyes locked onto hers. Then he pulled a small box out of his pocket and held it out to her.
Thalja glanced at it but didn’t take it. She just looked at him coldly. “What’s this supposed to mean?”
Darion grabbed her hand and pressed the box into her palm. “Thalia, I just want to make things even with Miya. She saved my life.”
“I’m the one who saved you!” Thalia threw the box on the ground, and the mockery vanished from her face. Her expression tightened with anger.
Darion’s frown deepened. “I checked everything. Thalia. You did save someone back then, but it wasn’t me.”
“That’s bullshit!” Thalia refused to accept what he was saying.
She remembered it clearly. She was the one who saved him!
But now he thought Miya was his savior.
He wanted to do everything he could to make Miya’s wishes come true.
‘How ridiculous, she sneered inwardly.
She took a deep breath to calm herself down. “Darion, if I want something. I’d rather tear it to pieces and throw it away than let Miya have it. And you’re not taking anything from me to give to her.”
She walked past him without another word.
Darion reached out to stop her, but his eyes landed on the small box lying on the floor.
The lid had popped open, and a beautiful ruby necklace glinted inside.
Her personality was bold and vibrant. She loved wearing pretty dresses, and this ruby necklace would look perfect on her
The moment he saw it at the auction, he knew it suited her.
But just now, she didn’t even glance at it.

She was right about herself When she stopped liking something, she threw it away. Objects, people, it didn’t matter
But Darion couldn’t accept that.
If you really liked something, how could you just stop?’ he thought. ‘How could you throw it away so easily?’
He bent down and picked up the box, slipping it back into his pocket.
‘It’s fine, he told himself. I’ll give it to her another time
Wendy saw right away that something was wrong with Thalia. “What happened?”
Thalia frowned. “He said he’s repaying Miya for her kindness. It’s ridiculous”
Wendy let out a frustrated breath. “That’s disgusting. How did he turn into this? Does everyone around Miya get poisoned or something?”
