Chapter 134
Trenton clearly spotted Thalia and stared at her with a dark expression.
Thalia didn’t get out of the car. She drove straight into the residential complex and parked.
Her phone started ringing right away. She glanced at the screen and rejected the call.
Yeah, right, she thought. ‘He’s obviously here to start something. Why would I get out and let him yell at me?
A mocking smile crossed her face. Trenton’s showing up this late to see me? I bet it’s about Miya. Did she run to them and tattle again? How pathetic.
Thalia took a shower and got into bed, ready to sleep.
But then someone started knocking on her door.
She frowned and walked over to check the video doorbell. Trenton and the property manager were standing outside.
Her expression went cold. ‘How did they just let anyone in? They didn’t even ask me first. This building’s security is terrible. I need to move, she thought.
The doorbell kept ringing, and Trenton’s face got darker with each passing second.
The building manager cleared his throat. “Sir, your daughter might be asleep already. Why don’t you give her a call, or maybe come back tomorrow?”
Trenton’s voice came out hard. “Just open the door.”
The manager looked uncomfortable. “I’m afraid I can’t do that, sir. We’re not allowed to open a resident’s door without permission.”
“I’m her father!” Trenton snapped. “I’m here to see my daughter and you’re telling me I can’t go in?”
The manager didn’t know what to do.
The tension was thick, and sweat started beading on his forehead.
Trenton was clearly looking for trouble, and the building staff was stuck in the middle.
Trenton pounded on the door. “Thalia, open the door right now!”
His anger was growing, and his face kept darkening.
He turned back to the manager. “Open it now. What if something happened to my daughter in there?”
The manager wiped his forehead. “We’d need the police present for that, sir.”
“Then call them,” Trenton said.
Right as he finished speaking, the door swung open.
Thalia stared at them blankly. “What’s going on? It’s the middle of the night, and you’re at my door cursing at me?”
Trenton’s eyes burned with anger as he pushed past her and walked inside.

Chapter 134
Thalia frowned. She was getting annoyed.
Once the door closed. Trenton spoke up. “You’ve got some nerve. I came here to see you and you just ignored me Do you even see me as your father anymore?”
Thalia looked at him calmly. “I used to, but then you kept favoring Miya Smith over and over again, so no, not anymore
“Her name is Coleman now!” Trenton snapped.
Thalia shrugged. “As far as I’m concerned, she’s still Miya Smith.”
She paused, then tilted her head. “Honestly, I’ve always wondered. Why do you and Mom bend over backward for her?
“If you’d adopted a son and played favorites, at least I could chalk it up to sexism. But you adopted a girl and still treated her like she hung the moon. I genuinely don’t get it.”
Trenton didn’t answer her question. Instead, he got straight to the point: “Did you take your sister’s sapphire earrings? Hand them over.”
“Take?” Thalia raised an eyebrow. “Darion bid on them for me. He gave them to me. How does that suddenly make them Miya’s?”
Trenton sat down on the couch, and a flicker of exhaustion crossed his face. “Thalia, just be the bigger person. She wants them, so let her have them. It’s just a pair of earrings. Why make such a fuss?”
“Well, I am making a fuss.” Thalia said coldly, “Why should I give her whatever she wants? I want those earrings too. Why doesn’t she back off for once? She calls herself my big sister, but does she act like one?”
