Chapter 135
“You’ Trenton’s anger flared, and he stared at Thalia with deep disappointment in his eyes.
Thalia hated it when he looked at her like that
It made her feel as if she’d committed an unforgivable crime
But all she’d done was stand up for herself and refuse to be pushed around.
Why is he looking at me like this?’ she thought bitterly. ‘Does Miya get whatever she wants? Am I supposed to stay quiet and take it when I’m wronged and bullied? Is that what being reasonable means? Sorry, but I can’t do that!
The living room fell into a heavy silence.
Something complicated flickered in Trenton’s eyes. “Thalia, you can have the shares or the sapphire earrings. Pick one.”
Thalia let out a harsh laugh. “Why should I? I’m the Coleman family’s biological daughter. Coleman Group belongs to me, and the sapphire earrings were paid for by my husband, so they’re mine too. Why the hell should I have to choose?”
I’m not here to debate this with you.” Trenton’s voice went cold, and his expression hardened. “I’m giving you two options. The paperwork for the shares hasn’t been finalized yet, and I can cancel it at any time. Think it over.”
He stood up and headed for the door.
Thalia’s fingers curled into tight fists. “Those sapphire earrings are something my grandmother has always wanted. I’m not giving them to her. And I’m not giving up the shares either!”
Trenton turned back, and his brows furrowed. “Your grandmother wants the sapphire earrings?”
“Yes.” Thalia nodded. “Grandma told me they were a keepsake from her and Grandpa, something that symbolized their love.
“She accidentally lost them years ago and she’s been thinking about them ever since. I finally tracked them down, so of course I bought them to give back to her.”
Trenton’s frown deepened. “Your mother never mentioned any of this to me.”
If this was really something Diana had always wanted, wouldn’t Shyla have brought it up at some point?’ he thought.
Thalia said, “You can go ask my mom yourself if you want. Either way, I’m not giving this to Miya.”
Something flickered in Trenton’s eyes, but he didn’t say anything else. He just turned around and left.
When Trenton got home, Shyla was still awake. She sat on the bed in her pajamas, scrolling through her tablet.
She looked up when he walked in. “Did you get it back?”
Trenton cut straight to the point. “Thalia said those sapphire earrings were a keepsake from when your parents got engaged. She said your mom lost them by accident and has been looking for them all these years. Did you know about any of this?”
Shyla’s face changed the moment she heard that. Her grip tightened on the tablet, and she stayed quiet for a bit before she finally spoke.
“She’s making that up. There was no keepsake. My parents met through a matchmaker back then, and they didn’t fall in love

until after they got married.”
She paused, then added, “Besides, my mom never mentioned anything like that to me.”
She let out a tired sigh. “Thalia’s just being petty. She knows Miya wants the earrings, so now she’s doing everything she can to keep them away from her.”
Trenton believed every word she said. His voice turned cold. “I can’t believe she lied to me. I gave her two options-the shares or the sapphires. She can only pick one.”
Shyla nodded slowly. “If we can’t get the sapphires back, compensating her with shares works too. Miya’s understanding, so I’m sure she won’t make a fuss about it.”
“Yeah.” Trenton agreed.
The next day. Thalia went to the office and told her supervisor she needed a few days off.
