I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 139

Chapter 139

The night was dark, and the autumn wind was cold.

Yellow leaves drifted down from the trees, and the air felt heavy with something lonely.

Thalia walked along the sidewalk, and her mind was racing.

She thought. If the sapphire earrings belonged to my grandparents, why does Miya insist on having them? She said they were important to her, but why?’

She couldn’t understand it. ‘Shyla’s been acting strange too, she thought. ‘She told me to give the earrings to Miya. Why would she do that? Could there be some connection between the earrings and Miya’s family?’

Her thoughts were tangled, and she couldn’t make sense of any of it.

When she got home, she pulled out the sapphire earrings and examined them under the light for a long time. She decided that once she finished her current work, she would find Diana and give her the earrings.

She needed to fulfill Diana’s wish.

The cafe smelled like fresh coffee, and elegant artwork hung on the walls.

Trenton looked at Darion, who was sitting across from him, and asked bluntly, “Did you say something to Miya about giving up her shares?”

Darion poured him coffee, and his expression remained neutral. He looked up and said, “She’s not a real Coleman anyway.”

Trenton frowned. “Aren’t you getting a little too involved in Coleman family business?”

Darion smiled. “Trenton, I’m part of the Coleman family too. I have a right to get involved in certain things.”

Darion was young, but he carried himself with a sharp, cutting edge. Right now, he’d pulled back that intensity, and it made him even harder to read.

Trenton couldn’t figure out what the man was thinking, so he asked directly, “What exactly are your intentions toward Miya?”

Darion narrowed his eyes coldly. “Trenton,” he said, “I thought we were here to discuss the shares.”

He didn’t want to answer.

Trenton lowered his gaze and stayed quiet for a moment before he spoke again. “I don’t care what’s going on in your head, but you can only be with one of my daughters. Don’t think you can keep them both in your grasp.”

“Trenton.” Darion said, pushing a coffee cup toward him, “have some coffee.”

Trenton’s brow furrowed. ‘Is he trying to shut me up?’ he thought.

Anger flared in his chest, but he forced it down and took a sip from the cup. “I heard you bought those sapphire earrings for Miya at the auction, but then Thalia took them. How did you handle that?”

Darion’s eyes dropped. “Thalia liked them, so she took them.”

“But you bought them for Miya.” Trenton said, his tone turning severe. “You made a promise and you need to keep it Thalia doesn’t know better, but you should.”

Danon said calmly. “They’re just sapphire carrings. My wife likes them, so why would I take something she loves and give it to someone else?”

Trenton could barely contain his anger. “Thalia snatched those from Miya!” he snapped. “You two don’t get it. Miya never asks for anything, and she only wanted those earrings. Why can’t you give her that?”
