Chapter 140
Chapter 140
Darion looked up at Trenton. ‘Did you think about Thalia when you made these decisions?”
Trenton replied, “I already gave Thalia her shares. What more does she want?”
He paused, then added, “Besides, Miya saved your life back then. You need to repay that debt, Darion.”
The study fell quiet. The scent of coffee drifted through the air, but the atmosphere turned cold.
After a long silence, Darion finally spoke. “You can offer her Coleman Group shares, but if she doesn’t want them, you can’t force her. She knows whether Coleman Group shares matter more than Keith does, and I’m sure you know that too.”
Trenton’s face went dark. Now he finally understood how Darion was threatening Miya. Keith was Miya’s whole world.
Trenton snapped angrily, “Darion, how can you do this to Miya? She saved your life!”
Darion replied coolly, “That’s my business, not yours. You’re acting like she saved your life, too.”
“You-“Trenton’s face flushed with anger, and he shot to his feet, storming out of the room.
He’d thought Darion would help Miya out of gratitude for saving his life, but Darion was completely unpredictable.
Trenton thought, ‘What’s he really thinking? He seems good to Miya, but then again, maybe not. I can’t read him at all!”
Darion sipped his coffee calmly, then stood up and walked out. Ryan was waiting outside.
Ryan asked, “Mr. Blackburn, heading back to the office?”
Darion said as he walked, “Look into why the Colemans adopted Miya.”
“Yes, sir,” Ryan replied.
The share transfer contract was now in effect, and Thalia had signed the papers.
When she returned to the office, she saw Miya coming out of the recording studio and immediately looked away, feeling disgusted.
Miya watched her retreating figure, and something dark flashed in her eyes.
She hadn’t gotten the sapphire earrings, had been slapped around, and complaining to Trenton and Shyla had gotten her nowhere.
She felt a sense of crisis creeping in.
She thought, ‘Could I really lose everything I have now?”
She wouldn’t let that happen.
Miya turned and headed straight to the manager’s office.
The project manager was a newcomer named Clinton Howard, and he was still getting to know the company.
