Chapter 148
Thalia stared at him ‘So you’re just going to trample on everything I feel for you?” she asked. “You don’t care how I feel and no matter how much you hurt me, you think I’ll just forgive you?”
Darion’s breath caught “Thalia, that’s not what I meant,” he said.
‘But that’s exactly what you’re doing.” Thalia replied.
She smiled, but it was bitter and self-mocking. “Darion, I used to care about you. I lied to myself about us, but I don’t care anymore I don’t want you anymore either.
“You can use whatever tricks you want to keep me from filing for divorce, but as long as I’m breathing, I’ll never give up on leaving you.”
She yanked her hand away from his and walked quickly out of the coffee shop.
Darion watched her leave. His brow furrowed deeply.
His phone rang. It was the housekeeper from Rosewood Manor.
“Mr. Blackburn, Keith is asking for you,” she said.
“I’ll be right there,” Darion replied.
Keith had gotten scared last night and developed a fever around midnight. Darion had stayed up with him all night, and the boy finally seemed better this morning.
When he returned to Rosewood Manor, he found Miya still outside the door. She was curled up, head down.
He frowned. “Miya, why are you doing this?” he asked.
Miya looked up at him. Her face was pale. “Darion, I need to see my son,” she pleaded. “You can’t take him away from me.”
“That’s not my intention,” Darion said, “but you obviously can’t take care of him properly.”
“I can!” Miya started crying. “Last night was just an accident. Please believe me. I swear I’ll take good care of him. Don’t take him from me.”
Darion wasn’t in the mood to listen to her excuses.
Keith kept causing problems over and over. Darion’s patience with Miya had finally run out.
“Darion!” Miya called out as she watched him walk away. Her voice broke with hurt.
She bit her lip. After a moment, she stood up and stumbled out of the room. She headed straight for Blackburn Manor.
Keith’s face lit up when he saw Darion. “Darry!” he called out, reaching both arms toward him.
Darion scooped him up. “Still scared?” he asked gently.
“Not when Darry’s here, Keith said. The little boy clung to him.

Chapter 148
Darion studied his small face “How did you end up in the pumpkin house” he asked.
Keith seemed to think about it “We were playing hide and seek,” he explained ‘I got lost I couldn’t find my way our
Darion frowned Where was your mom?” he pressed.
Keith shook his head ‘I don’t know,” he said quietly. I couldn’t see her
Darion realized he wasn’t going to get anything useful out of Keith.
Darion patiently coaxed Keith into taking his medicine and eating some food. “How about we go see Tally together?” he suggested gently
Keith looked scared. “I don’t want to,” he mumbled.
Tally’s not mean.” Darion reassured him. “If you behave, she’ll like you.”
