Chapter 16 Imprison Her

Darion’s strong brows furrowed deeply. Watching her break down, his voice sharpened.

“I only go there when Keith has problems. There’s nothing between me and Miya,” he replied.

Thalia clutched his collar, struggling to hold back her tears, yet they still fell. Her voice trembled as she choked out, “If one day, Keith and I both fell into the water, who would you save?”

“That’s impossible,” Darion replied, his patience wearing thin.

“He’s still a kid. As his closest relatives, it’s our duty to look after him and discipline him.”

He paused, his tone softening a bit. “Emely always treated you kindly. Can’t you look after Keith, for her sake?”

“No,” Thalia refused him instantly, no hesitation at all.

She released his collar and looked away, her back to him. “I’m a bad woman. I can’t stand him always stealing your attention from me. If you insist on taking care of him, then let’s get divorced.”

‘This argument never ends,’ Darion thought, feeling exhausted and frustrated.

Darion let go of her. “We’re never getting divorced. Once you calm down and think it over, you’ll understand me.” Thalia clenched her hands until her knuckles whitened. “But you already signed the divorce papers!”

Darion answered flatly, “It doesn’t count.”

He turned his face away, not looking at her.

Thalia was on the verge of breaking down completely.

She gritted her teeth and snarled, “So you won’t let me go? Fine. Every time I see Miya and Keith, I’ll make them suffer. Every single chance I get!”

Darion stared at her, his gaze dark and unreadable.

Right then, Thalia had no idea what he was planning behind those eyes.

But as soon as they got back to Rosewood Manor and she spotted the extra bodyguards at the entrance, Thalia froze in shock. “What are you doing?”

She could barely keep her voice steady.

Darion reached out to take her hand. “Your knee is injured. Stay at home and rest. They’re for your protection.” Thalia stared at his stiff figure in disbelief. “Are you… going to imprison me here?”

Darion’s brows tightened. “Thalia, I’m doing this because I care about you.”

“You bastard!” Thalia screamed.

She snapped entirely, raising her hand to strike him, but Darion seized her wrist before her palm could land. “Stop,” he gritted out, frustration lacing his voice.

Once they were inside Rosewood Manor, he pressed her down onto the couch, holding her there with helpless resolve.

Thalia snatched a pillow from the couch and hurled it at him, her face flaming with rage.

She scrambled up and made a dash for the door.

But her knee throbbed unbearably. She could walk, but the second she ran, a searing pain flared in her leg. She stumbled and crashed to the ground.

Darion caught her before she hit the floor.

“Stop struggling. Your knee’s badly hurt,” he said. His tone softened, almost like the old Darion she’d once loved.

Thalia glared at him. “You can’t keep me prisoner here.”

Darion replied, “I’m not imprisoning you. You have no money now. You can’t manage out there. Just stay and
