Chapter 161
Thaha wasn’t being sarcastic. She was genuinely asking.
Are they really enjoying all this drama?

If Darion just divorced Miya sooner, they could finally be together and give the nephew he’s always cared about a proper family.
Wouldn’t that be great? Thalia thought.
Miya’s eyes flickered for a moment before she said. “Lia, why do you still misunderstand the relationship between Darion and me? We’re innocent.”
Thalia took a step back, disappointment written all over her face. ‘Ugh, this is just pointless, she thought.
She didn’t spare Miya another glance and turned to head back to her desk.
She pulled out her phone, snapped a photo of Miya, and sent it to Helen.
When Helen saw the photo, she let out a frustrated sigh.
She picked up her phone and dialed Darion.
“Mom, what’s up?” Darion said, his tone icy.
Guess he’s not in the mood, Helen thought.
‘Can’t you just give your mom a break?” Helen sighed.
Darion looked puzzled. “What’s wrong?”
‘Didn’t we agree yesterday that Miya would leave the company? Why did she show up again today?” Helen groaned, rubbing her temples. “If she wants a job, fine. This city is huge. Why does she have to work with Thalia of all people?”
Darion’s voice grew even colder. “Mom, just let it go. Haven’t you been home for ages? Isn’t your medical team bugging you o get back?”
Helen was at a loss for words.
Seriously, what a rebellious son!’ Helen grumbled to herself.
You’re already siding with Miya when I’m around. If I wasn’t here, who knows what kind of chaos you’d stir up,” Helen norted. “I’m not leaving anytime soon, so don’t even think about kicking me out!”
She hung up right after.
When it came to Miya working at the studio, Helen really had no idea what to do anymore.
She had no clue what her son was thinking.
This is such a pain, Helen thought.

Chapter 16)
When Thalia got back to her desk, she noticed a fancy box of chocolates sitting there.
She paused, a little surprised. ‘Who left this here?’ she wondered.
$3 Vichop
She glanced around, but no one seemed to be paying attention. Frowning, she just tossed the chocolates straight into the trash
Then she got back to work.
As the workday was winding down, Clinton walked over and asked, “Got a minute?”
“What’s up?” Thalia replied.
“I need to record a commercial voiceover, and I think your voice would be perfect for it. Want to give it a try later?” Clinton said.
Thalia’s eyes lit up. ‘Cha-ching! Money-making opportunity!”
“Sure.”
She agreed right away.
Clinton added, “It’s for a charity campaign.”
Then he glanced at her desk, cleared his throat awkwardly, and said, “I was worried you’d turn me down, so I bought you a little gift ahead of time, a box of chocolates.”
Thalia’s expression froze for a second, and she glanced down at the trash can by her feet.
Clinton followed her gaze, looking a bit stunned for a second before he asked, “Why’d you throw it away?”
“There was no name on it. I was worried someone might’ve tampered with it,” Thalia said, completely serious.
Clinton just nodded, “Alright, you’ll do the charity voiceover. You seem pretty professional.”
He’d been all polite before, but after seeing the chocolates in the trash, he dropped the act. He said what he needed to say and walked off.
Thalia was speechless.
‘Just my luck.
‘Should’ve just used another trash can,’ Thalia muttered to herself.
Good thing the charity ad was just a quick one-minute spot with a handful of lines. It only took Thalia half an hour to wrap it up.
As she was packing up to leave for the day, she noticed Clinton stepping out of his office.
He flashed her a smile and said, “Hey, want to grab dinner? My treat. Just a little thank you for helping out with the ad.”
